Comparison between a Cloud Chamber at Sea Level and in Altitude

12:01
The video shows the difference in cosmic radiation intensity at ground level at Paris, Palais de La Découverte and in altitude at 2777 m, Pic du Midi in a Phywe PJ45 cloud chamber. Dimension of the surface of the machine is 45x45 cm. There is roughly the same quantity of electronic component (the thin erratic trails made of positons and electrons) because the intensity of gamma ray at 3000 m and in sea level has the same order of magnitude (0.01 cm-2.s-1.sr-1 for E above 30MeV). The electrons and positons are produced by photoelectric effect, Compton effect or pair creation by the interaction gamma ray in matter. The wall of the cloud chamber (total 1 cm of glass) is matter where production of electronic particle can occur. There is a difference about the hadronic component (proton and neutron). There is about 10x time more proton in 3000 m than in sea level (and neutron too) so we can see many more proton interaction in the Pic du Midi 's cloud chamber than the one in Paris. Proton leave thick straight trails and when a proton (or a neutron) hit a nucleus in the matter of the cloud chamber, it can produce other protons (spallation reaction). See the other video about observation of cosmic ray in altitude. The website http://www.cloudylabs.fr will give more explanations about the nuclear events observed.

"Halkata" - magic for life

12:32
"Halkata" ("The Ring") is a rock formation located approximately in the middle, to the left of the lift for the "Karandila" above the town of Sliven, Bulgaria, 550 meters above sea level. Indisputably it was built by the masters and the priests of the Egyptian ruler Hatshepsut Maatkara. "Halkata" gives us a forgotten method of mundane astrology and represents the element of a large stellar map about an astronomical event, which augurs the end of the Thracians and the Egypt civilization. It is a testament to the incredible knowledge of the ancients about the heavenly bodies and their impact on the life of the Earth. It represents an ingenious structure of the ancients to measure space-time distortions, when the gravity is hard. Revealing the mysteries about the "Halkata" explains the legends about the Egyptian god Osiris and the Hunter (Orion). Undoubtedly "Halkata" is a masterpiece of rock art.

Thanks for checking out the growth in part of the developing food forest here in a cool temperate climate. I'm at an altitude of about 700m above sea level in the South Eastern corner of Australia. The trees are between 4 and 6 years old and are on the shadier side of the food forest, so they are mainly pears and apples. Hope you enjoy the video.

Top 10 Tallest/Highest Mountains in the World . Thanks For Watching. Please Subscribe, Like, Share and Comment. The following is a list of the tallest mountains of the world, the peak elevations above sea level on the planet. These ten tallest mountain in the world are all found in the Himalaya. In fact, the fifty tallest mountains in the world are all found in Asia. 1. Mount Everest - China/Nepal - 29,035 feet (8850 meters) 2. K2 - China/Pakistan - 28,251 feet (8611 meters) 3. Kangchenjunga - India/Nepal - 28,169 feet (8586 meters) 4. Lhotse - China/Nepal - 27,939 feet (8516 meters) 5. Makalu - China/Nepal - 27,765 feet (8463 meters) 6. Cho Oyu - China/Nepal - 26,906 feet (8201 meters) 7. Dhaulagiri - Nepal - 26,794 feet (8167 meters) 8. Manaslu - Nepal - 26,781 feet (8163 meters) 9. Nanga Parbat - Pakistan - 26,660 feet (8126 meters) 10. Annapurna I (Annapurna contains six peaks) - Nepal - 26,545 feet (8091 meters) Scientists are now able to pinpoint exactly how tall every mountain on Earth is, thanks to NASA's use of the Earth Observing System series of satellites. Measuring each mountain's summit, or tallest point, by their height above sea level, the 10 tallest mountains in the world all turn out be located in the Himalayas. Each of these mountains belongs to the "eight-thousanders" club, a list that consists of the 14 mountains on Earth that are 8,000 meters (about 26,250 feet) tall or more. Meet the "eight-thousanders" and the brutal challenges they pose to the people who try to climb them. Tallest Mountains in the World The world's tallest mountains are some of the most majestic and beautiful things that one can be blessed enough to witness in their lifetime. They are all located in Asia and each reach an altitude of over eight thousand meters in height. There are only fourteen mountains in the world that can boast such a height. Below are the ten highest of these fourteen mountains. it is a little bit difficult to measure the height with such precise accuracy while dividing line among a mountain with several peaks therefore due to this problem another method to provide most accurate measurement is available which is called topographic prominence.. every year glaciers melt and produce lot of water in form of streams , this water is mostly useful and used for agricultural needs but sometimes huge melting of ice create lot of problems such as destruction, floods and blockage of roads and highways. below, a list is prepared of top ten highest mountains in the world. Marsili: the danger comes from the depths of the sea.

08:14
Marsili : the danger comes from the depths of the sea. Southern Italy in tsunami risk : possible tsunami following an eruption or earthquake motion . All the Mediterranean coasts are at risk due to the tsunami seismicity and the presence of numerous active volcanoes, emerged and submerged . Over the past thousand years, along the Italian coast , have been documented several dozen tsunamis , only some of which are destructive . The coastal areas most affected are those in eastern Sicily , Calabria , Puglia and the Aeolian archipelago. Tsunamis Small Claims were also recorded along the coasts of Liguria, Tyrrhenian and Adriatic . The Italian coasts can also be reached by tsunamis generated in the Mediterranean areas distant from our country (for example, due to a strong earthquake in the waters of Greece). The shores of the Mediterranean are at risk tsunami , not only because of the seismicity of the area, but also for the presence of numerous volcanoes emerged and submerged . However, if you produce a tsunami in the Mediterranean Sea - a closed basin and shallow - would not have the same force and intensity of a tidal wave that grows in the ocean, where earthquakes occur with frequency and magnitude far greater than those that are recorded in the Mediterranean area and the water masses involved are considerably larger . This does not mean , however, as historically proved , that in the Mediterranean area as a result of seismic events particularly energy or submarine landslides , tsunamis can originate destructive , partly because of the rapid urbanization of coastal areas . The tidal wave is manifested as a rapid rise in sea level or as a veritable wall of water that descends on the coast , causing a flood that invades the coastal strip . Sometimes we observe an initial and sudden retreat of the sea , which leaves in dry ports and beaches. The tsunami waves have much more power than the storms and are able to go inland for many hundreds of meters ( kilometers even if the coast is very low), dragging everything they find along the way: vehicles, boats , trees, and other materials, which increase the destructive potential . Wave propagation and effects on the coast are influenced by morphological factors - such as the coastline or the topography of the seabed and inland - and man , linked to the use of the soil. The port areas , for example , for their conformation can amplify the energy of the tidal wave , while the presence of buildings and docks along the coast can reduce the propagation of the wave towards the inside . The tsunami waves can also go back from the mouth along the course of rivers and streams , spreading inland. In addition to the direct effects of wave action on the move, the tsunami can trigger a whole series of secondary effects : the flood in fact can trigger landslides , pollution of water , or fire. The impact on ports and industrial plants can cause the release and spread of pollutants .

Dead sea amazing natural phenomenon - DeadSea salt cubes

01:20
Cubes of salt washed up on the shore in the Deadsea (Israel Dead sea, Deadsea) Dead sea (from wikipedia): also called the Salt Sea, is a salt lake bordering Jordan to the east, and Palestine and Israel to the west. near Jerusalem. Its surface and shores are 427 metres (1,401 ft) below sea level, Earth's lowest elevation on land. The Dead Sea is 306 m (1,004 ft) deep, the deepest hypersaline lake in the world. With 34.2% salinity (in 2011), it is also one of the world's saltiest bodies of water, though Lake Vanda in Antarctica (35%), Lake Assal (Djibouti) (34.8%), Lagoon Garabogazköl in the Caspian Sea (up to 35%) and some hypersaline ponds and lakes of the McMurdo Dry Valleys in Antarctica (such as Don Juan Pond (44%)) have reported higher salinities. It is 9.6 times as salty as the ocean. This salinity makes for a harsh environment in which animals cannot flourish, hence its name. The Dead Sea is 50 kilometres (31 mi) long and 15 kilometres (9 mi) wide at its widest point. It lies in the Jordan Rift Valley, and its main tributary is the Jordan River. The Dead Sea has attracted visitors from around the Mediterranean basin for thousands of years. Biblically, it was a place of refuge for King David. It was one of the world's first health resorts (for Herod the Great), and it has been the supplier of a wide variety of products, from balms for Egyptian mummification to potash for fertilizers. People also use the salt and the minerals from the Dead Sea to create cosmetics and herbal sachets. The Dead Sea seawater has a density of 1.240 kg/L, which makes swimming similar to floating." dead seas near Jerusalem halite phenomenon (from wikipedia): "commonly known as rock salt, is the mineral form of sodium chloride (NaCl). Halite forms isometric crystals. The mineral is typically colorless or white, but may also be light blue, dark blue, purple, pink, red, orange, yellow or gray depending on the amount and type of impurities. Waterways Episode 268 - Climate Change and Sea Level Rise in South Florida

26:21
Sea level rise is submerging the coastal communities of Florida, and jeopardizing investments and the state economy. Along with the personal and financial loss of property, comes a loss of habitat and wildlife. Climate change is real and is impacting the people and the landscape of south Florida. What is happening here in south Florida is happening everywhere on the planet. Half the world's population lives within 60 miles of the coast; just about 3 to 6 feet above sea level. In 2007, Chris Bergh of The Nature Conservancy initiated a research project to identify impacts of sea level rise in the Florida Keys. They created digital models illustrating sea level rise scenarios from 7 inches to 4.6 feet to reflect the best available range of sea level rise for the year 2100.. Directed by Erik Hutchins. Presented by Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, Everglades National Park and the United States Environmental Protection Agency.

Bakhmaro

00:27
See beautiful places and unforgettable mountains in Bakhmaro which is 2050 meter from sea. At over 2050 meters above sea level, Bakhmaro (Georgian: ბახმარო) in Guria region is the highest alpine climatic resort in Georgia. The average annual relative humidity is 73 per cent and the mixture of sea and mountain air is beneficial for people with respiratory problems. The surrounding mountains are a source of Bakhmaro bottled spring water, which is similar to Borjomi water in its chemical composition. The houses of Bakhmaro are spread out across the Bakhvistskhali River valley. Views from the forest covered mountains are breathtaking, especially from Lenchis Seri (2505 m), which is called "Sun rise hill". There is also a smaller Bakhmaro peak called "Sunset hill" (2250 m). When there is clear visibility it is possible to watch the sun set on the Black Sea. Winter is moderately mild but snow cover is very high (up to 5 meters) and lasts for about 6 months. Work to develop the area and its infrastructure was begun several years ago and will establish Bakhmaro as an all-year round resort, including winter sports. Bakhmaro houses are of an unusual style. Built of wood, they are perched on columns to maximize air flow in the warm, damp climate. Every year, on August 19, dozens of riders compete in a horse race in Bakhmaro as part of the celebration of the Transfiguration of Jesus. Last year, a woman from the Black Sea town of Poti won the race. Gurian horsemanship is world-renowned. In the 1880s Gurians were recruited by Buffalo Bill to take part in his Wild West Show. How to get there: Bakhmaro is located in the district of Chokhatauri on the Meskheti mountain range in the Guria region. Distance from Tbilisi is around 340 km -- a journey time of around four and half hours.

Salar de Atacama, Atacama Desert, Antofagasta Region, Chile, South America

01:35
Salar de Atacama is the largest salt flat in Chile. It is located 55 km (34 mi) south of San Pedro de Atacama, is surrounded by mountains, and has no drainage outlets. In the east it is enclosed by the main chain of the Andes, while to the west lies a secondary mountain range of the Andes called Cordillera de Domeyko. Large volcanoes dominate the landscape, including the Licancabur, Acamarachi, Aguas Calientes and the Láscar. The last is one of the most active volcanoes in Chile. All of them are located along the eastern side of the Salar de Atacama, forming a generally north-south trending line of volcanoes that separate it from smaller endorheic basins. The salt flat encompasses 3,000 km2 (1,200 sq mi), is about 100 km (62 mi) long and 80 km (50 mi) wide, which makes it the third largest in the world, after Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia (10,582 km2 (4,086 sq mi) and Salinas Grandes in Argentina (6,000 km2, 2,300 sq mi). Its average elevation is about 2,300 m above sea level. The topography of the core portion of the salar exhibits a high level of roughness, the result of evaporation and ephemeral surface water, unlike the most other salt flats, as for example the Salar de Uyuni, which is periodically covered with shallow water. Some areas of the salt flat form part of Los Flamencos National Reserve. The Laguna Cejar is a sink hole lake in the Salar de Atacama, 18 km from San Pedro, Chile. It has a salt concentration that ranges from 5 to 28% (50 to 280 parts per thousand), producing at the higher end of the range an effect of floating like the Dead Sea. Salar de Atacama basin is bordered on the north by the Salado River basin, which is a sub-basin of the Loa River basin. To the east, the drainage divide approximately coincides with the international border with Bolivia until the Portezuelo del Cajón. The dividing range includes the volcanoes Cerros de Tocorpuri, Sairecabur, Curiquinca, Licancabur and Juriques. Going southward, the water divide runs along a chain of volcanoes that lie entirely in Chilean territory. To the west, the Cordillera Domeyko separates the Salar de Atacama basin from arheic areas. Its main tributaries are the San Pedro and Vilama rivers, which originate to the north of the salt flat. Salar de Atacama is the world's largest and purest active source of lithium, containing 27% of the world's lithium reserve base, and as of 2008 provided almost 30% of the world's lithium carbonate supply, followed by China with 23%. High lithium concentration in its brine (2,700 parts per million).

Compilation of Impressive Cosmic Ray Interactions in a Cloud Chamber (Altitude : 2877 m) [1080p]

20:33
The video show a compilation of protons interactions, electromagnetic shower and cosmic ray spallation in a Phywe PJ45 cloud chamber at 2877 m. The sequences come from 8 hours of recording with a HD camera. Dimension of the surface of the machine is 45x45 cm. There is no magnetic field in the chamber; The cloud chamber was temporarily put in the Pic du Midi (French Observatory in the Pyrenees) in 2012 for the 100th anniversary of the discovery of cosmic ray. As this altitude, there is about 10 times more neutron and proton than in sea level. Theses particles can interact with the matter and break some nucleus which release other protons and neutrons, alpha particles or deuteron. The density of ionisation in a trail is proportionnal to z²/v² where z is the charge of the particle and v it's velocity. Thus, a proton with a low kinetic energy will make more ionization so the trail will be bigger than the trail of a high energy proton. A 5 MeV (0.1c) proton have a range of 34 cm in air, a 10 MeV one, 1.1 m. The range of an alpha particle of 10 MeV in air is 10.4 cm. Their is also higly energetic gamma ray (or energetic incoming electrons !), which can make electromagnetic shower (electrons and positon) in the matter (wall of the room, or wall of the machine which is made with 1 cm of glass). Single e+/e- comes from muon or Pi0 decay, or from the 3 interactions process of gamma in matter (photoelectric, compton and pair creation). See the website http://www.cloudylabs.fr for more pictures and annotations about theses nuclear events. Feel free to give your thought about any interactions of the video.

teideXtreme TRAILER 2014

00:36
Beat the Demon Did you know that the Pico del Teide with its 3,718 m above sea level is the highest mountain in Spain, and also the third highest volcano in the world? He also forms part of one of the most beautiful natural parks in Canary Islands, and in 2007 he was even declared World Heritage by the UNESCO. It is said that Tenerife's aborigines, the Guanches, called this mountain Echeyde which means "hell" and that inside this mountain there lives a very evil demon called Guayota (the destroyer). Guayota made the mountain erupt often, spitting fire and lava all over the island. But not enough with this, one day he let raise pitch black clouds darkening the sky, while he emerged from inside the mountain with the aim to take Magec (the god of light and sun) with him into the depth of his crater. Plunged into eternal darkness, the Guanches were so desperate that they implored their god Achaman to help them to protect them and give them back the sun and the light. Whereupon Achaman got angry with Guayota, and after struggling with him for a long time, finally defeated him. Magec, and with him the light and the sun returned into freedom. Achaman clogged the Mount Echeyde with a white plug, which forms the peak and is called Pan de Azúcar or Sugarloaf. Luckily Magec was set free, and now the sun shines again forever over Tenerife. But sometimes you can still hear Guayota's angry screams from deep inside of Mount Teide high over the treetops on Tenerife. Are you ready to silence him forever? Beat the Demon!!!

It connects the Indian state of Sikkim with China's Tibet Autonomous Region. The pass, at 4,310 m (14,140 ft) above mean sea level, forms a part of an offshoot of the ancient Silk Road. Nathu means "listening ears" and La means "pass" in Tibetan. On the Indian side, the pass is 54 km (34 mi) east of Gangtok, the capital of Indian state of Sikkim. Only citizens of India can visit the pass, that too after obtaining a permit in Gangtok. Nathu La is one of the three open trading border posts between China and India; the other two are Shipkila in Himachal Pradesh and Lipulekh (or Lipulech) in Uttarakhand.Sealed by India after the 1962 Sino-Indian War, Nathu La was re-opened in 2006 following numerous bilateral trade agreements. The opening of the pass was expected to bolster the economy of the region and play a key role in the growing Sino-Indian trade but that has not happened. Currently, agreements between the two nations limit trade across the pass to 29 types of goods from India and 15 from the Chinese side. The opening also shortens the travel distance to important Hindu and Buddhist pilgrimage sites in the region. Nathu La is located on the 563 km (350 mi) Old Silk Route, an offshoot of the historic Silk Road. The Old Silk Route connects Lhasa in Tibet to the plains of Bengal to the south. In 1815, trade volumes increased after the British annexed territories belonging to the Sikkimese, Nepalese, and Bhutanese. The potential of Nathu La was realised in 1873, after the Darjeeling Deputy Commissioner published a report on the strategic importance of mountain passes between Sikkim and Tibet. In December 1893, the Sikkimese monarchy and Tibetan rulers signed an agreement to increase trade between the two nations. The agreement culminated in 1894 when the trade pass was opened. subscribe to our channel:http://goo.gl/kOtZNL

Teide Xtreme 2013

04:10
Are you ready to help us and silence him forever? Beat the Demon!!!

You gotta go days without, listen to me you gotta want to be successful so bad that you forget to eat! Pain is Temporary, It may last for a minute, or an hour, or a day, or even a year! Inside the Scientology Celebrity Centre: An Ex-Parishioner Reveals All

02:36:46
This documentary is an inside look at the Scientology Celebrity Centre. I begin by taking you on my journey from a fresh faced new actor who just arrived in Los Angeles, full of hopes and dreams, to ultimately being recruited into Hollywood's most dangerous, secretive, and famous cult. I'm bringing to light all of their horrible crimes, especially detailing how they exploit members financially. I talk about their elite Sea Organization, which makes members sign billion year contracts and devote their entire lives to serving Scientology as around the clock slave labor. I also publicly reveal how anti-gay the church is, bringing homophobia to a whole new level. I'm exposing the church and airing all of their dirty laundry! I know all of their inner workings. I know all of the inside secrets about the church and their celebrities. This is the video Scientology doesn't want you to see and what they don't want you to know about - and I tell all! *** Donate to Me & My Channel: https://www.youcaring.com/stevenmango-729748 *** About Me: My name is Steven Mango and I was a parishoner of the exclusive Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre International in Hollywood, CA. ☼ Tenerife 2014 Pico del Teide | Volcano - Vulkan

01:36
Tenerife 2014 Pico del Teide | Volcano - Vulkan Pico del Teide is a volcano on Tenerife in the Canary Islands. Its 3,718-metre (12,198 ft) summit is the highest point in Spain and the highest point above sea level in the islands of the Atlantic. At 7,500 m (24,600 ft) from its base on the ocean floor, it is the third highest volcano in the world, after Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa in Hawaii. Its elevation makes Tenerife the tenth highest island in the world. It remains active: its most recent eruption occurred in 1909 from the El Chinyero vent on the northwestern Santiago rift. The United Nations Committee for Disaster Mitigation designated Teide a Decade Volcano because of its history of destructive eruptions and its proximity to several large towns, of which the closest are Garachico, Icod de los Vinos and Puerto de la Cruz. Teide, Pico Viejo and Montaña Blanca form the Central Volcanic Complex of Tenerife. The volcano and its surroundings comprise Teide National Park, which has an area of 18,900 hectares (73 sq mi) and was named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO on June 29, 2007.It is one of the most visited National Parks in the world, with a total of 2.8 million visitors, according to the Instituto Canario de Estadística (ISTAC) ► JAKE ☼
