The Content Creator James SP talks about brand messaging. So my question to you as a business owner what is your message for next year or the year that’s coming? What is the message for you? What is it that you want to convey to your customers, your clients? What’s going on everybody I am James S P a content creator, we are officially in SPMODE. Today I want to talk to you all about Brand Messaging. So we’re getting ready to end 2017 and go on to 2018. So the question becomes to me; what is your brand message? What message do you want to convey next year? What is the culture of your company? And is that culture infused with your brand message the brand title, your logo I don’t know. For example I have a client of mine Century 21. Every month I film with Rett Harmon, and so during the middle of our shoot we had a quick session of brainstorming and the question or the topic I should say came up about culture and brand messaging. So we began to talk about that because we brand the tagline the Novus Way but we’ve never fully identified with the Novus Way was in then begin to build the culture around that which is the way that it should be done. So as we began to talk about it we were like you know what? We’ve finally locked down the meaning in terms of putting it in words so that we can convey to the customer to the client or the agents, all those who are watching videos that we’re creating. Rett Harmon and I came up with the relentless pursuit of excellence, right? The relentless pursuit of excellence! So now the question becomes, how do we convey that message to you all and we began to think about it and we came up with some ideas check these two commercials out. How is you marketing? Are you the community expert? Do you love the marketing your office provides for you? Does the culture at your office fit your personality or is it kind of sail and boring. May be you are due for an upgrade. We’re about Careers. We’re about work hard play hard. We’re about Education. We’re about creative marketing. Join us! You see, so without shoving the message down your throat we came up with a video that would that would convey what we’re trying to explain softly without definitely putting it out there and repeating those words. So my question to you as a business owner, what is your message for next year or for this year that’s coming? What is the message for you? What is it that you want to convey to your customers, your clients? You know what I mean? So, for me, SPMODE! Right, the infinite realm of one’s creativity. Does that make sense? It may not, but as time goes on you’ll fully understand or the more that you keep watching the videos that I create you get a better understand of exactly what SPMODE is. But, when you’re in a zone and you’ve got this infinite realm of energy and creative ideas coming and you figuring out how to make things happen; you’re in SPMODE! You get it?! So anyways, so that’s my question to you all, what is your brand message? Now I do want to point this out, a videographer wouldn’t help you figure that out. But a content Creator who understands marketing, brand strategy and things of that nature would. This is the story of my logo. It started with a call to Gair. I was nervous. You see, he’s the guy I’ve called to help me uncover the visual identity of my last two companies. But this time things were different. The new brand wasn’t just a business. It represented my very essence. I wanted help extracting the core of who I am. I wanted to create a logo that represented all my beliefs, philosophies and life truths. The goal was to create something that I could stamp my original work with. A visual lighthouse that could outlive me, and guide my two boys way past my time on earth with them. No small task, right? That call turned into several meetings, some lasting 2+ hours where Gair took a 20V power drill into the core of my being. He pricked and probed me with dozens of deeply intimate questions until he truly understood what makes me tick. It was painful. It’s just weird talking about myself from this light, but I knew the work was important. Once the initial brand essence was extracted, we called my buddy Rich up to help with the visual creative. This video reveals what happened next. To this day, people still don’t realize that the logo came from my signature. If you ever work on a logo project, remember these 3 things: 1. Inspiration will come from many places, so go wide and deep. 2. Collaborate with others to get a broader perspective. 3. Release your constraints and inhibitions. Hyundai Many people are inclined to think that the logo of the South Korean conglomerate Hyundai is simply the first letter of its name. But actually, the letter ’Н’ symbolises two people (a client and a representative of the company) shaking hands. 16. Adidas The name Adidas is derived from that of its founder, Adolf Dassler. The company’s logo has changed over time, but it’s always included three stripes. The current configuration is three stripes at an angle which together form a triangle. This symbolises a mountain, which in turn represents the challenges which all athletes have to overcome. 15. Apple Rob Yanov, the designer who created with the world-famous Apple company logo, has explained how he came up with the idea: ’I bought a whole bag of apples, placed them in a bowl, and spent time drawing them for a week, trying to break the image down into something simple. Taking a bite out of an apple was part of the experiment, and completely by coincidence I realised that ’bite’ sounded exactly the same as the computer term ’byte’. 14. Sony Vaio The first two letters of the logo of Sony Vaio make up a wave, which represents an analogue symbol, whereas the last two are similar to the numbers 1 and 0 — that is, symbols of a digital signal. 13. Amazon At first glance, Amazon’s logo appears to be nothing special. But it was designed with the philosophy of the company in mind. The orange arrow is similar to a smile, as the company wants its customers to be satisfied. The arrow is also stretched between the letters ’A’ and ’Z’, in a hint that the company sells absolutely every product imaginable (’from A to Z’). 12. Baskin-Robbins The pink-colored areas of the "BR" part of the logo here make up the number 31, which is the number of different flavors of ice cream that Baskin-Robbins used to famously sell. 11. Toyota Many people have compared the logo of the Japanese car-producer Toyota to the image of a cowboy wearing a stereotypical hat. But it actually represents a stylised image of the eye of a needle with a thread passed through it. This is a hint at the company’s past — of a time when it used to produce weaving machines. At the same time, the individual parts of the logo also spell out the letters of the company’s name. 8. Pinterest The logo of the popular internet site Pinterest, which people use to collect images they like from across net and ’pin’ them to their online notice board, has the image of a pin hidden in the letter P. 6. Toblerone Toblerone, the famous chocolate company based in Bern, Switzerland, includes a silhouette of a bear in its logo, on account of the fact that Bern is sometimes called a city of bears. 5. BMW It’s often supposed that the central part of the BMW logo symbolizes the rotating blades of an airplane, in line with the company’s early history of aviation technology, but it is in fact simply a part of the Bavarian flag — the area of Germany where the company originated. 4. LG The logo of the South Korean electronics company LG is a stylized image of a person’s face. According to the company, this represents its aspiration to maintain ordinary, human relations with its customers. 3. Evernote Elephants are known for having impressive memories, including their ability to remember both faces and events. Timestamp: 00:00 - Create a business email address on your domain 10:43 - Create multiple business email addresses on your domain 14:28 - Create a group email address Let’s get started! ===== Creating your 1st Business Email ===== Step 1: Login to your Domain Provider’s Website If you already have a domain, then login to your domain provider’s website. If not, you can get a domain easily by clicking here ➜ https://websitelearners.com/get/domain Step 2: Enable Email Forwarding This will forward all the mails coming to your business email address to Gmail. To enable email forwarding, setup your workspace email. Then create a forward by clicking manage. Now, enter the business email that you want to create. For Example, you can enter something like [email protected], or [email protected] Then enter an existing gmail address to which you want to forward the mails to! Step 3: Create your Zoho-Mail Account What is Zoho and Why are we using it? Zoho is a free email service which handles the sending of emails from our domain. By using Zoho, we can avoid paying separately for our business email. To create a Zoho account: Go to http://zoho.com/mail and sign-up for the free plan. Step 4: Verify our domain. Continue the setup by choosing your DNS provider. Next, you need to enter the details shown in Zoho, to your Domain Provider’s DNS page. So just, go to Godaddy and then under domains, click Manage DNS. Then, add the details from Zoho. After adding it, click verify your domain and proceed with the setup. Skip to the SPF (Sender Policy Framework) page where you need to again enter the details to GoDaddy. Once you’re done, then again skip the pages till you reach the Mail Client Configuration. Step 5: Connect your Zoho account with Gmail Next, login to Gmail and then go to settings. Click Accounts & Import and then click add another email address. Now enter the new email address and also the “From” name that you want to use. Then, Gmail will ask you for server details, so you need to go back to Zoho and copy the details from the outgoing server and then paste it in the box. In the username field, enter the business email address and then enter the same password, that you used in Zoho. Now, use the confirmation code to verify your account. Okay! Now, the Zoho account has been connected to Gmail. Now, if you click compose and then click the arrow in the “From” field, you’ll see the new email address. Now, let’s set this as the default email address. To do that: Go back to settings and then to Accounts & Import. Next to your new email address, click make default. That’s it! This is how you can create a free business email id and use it with Gmail. ===== Creating more emails on your domain ===== Step 1: Create an Email Forward in GoDaddy Go to GoDaddy and under workspace email click manage. Then create a forward. Enter the email id’s that you want to create and then type the existing Gmail address to which you want to forward the incoming mails to! Step 2: Create a new user in Zoho Go to http://mail.zoho.com and then go to the control panel. You’ll then see a notice saying action required! Don’t worry about it, just continue by clicking okay! and go to user details to add a new user. Step 3: Add the email to the User’s Gmail account Login to Gmail and then go into settings and click Accounts & Import. Next to send email as click add another email address. Now, enter the “From” name and the same email address here and click next. Set the server details as smtp.zoho.com including the port as 465. Then enter the full email address with the same password that you used in Zoho. Then add this account by entering the confirmation code. That’s it! Now, when you’re composing a mail, you can select the new email address by clicking the arrow in the From section. You can follow these 3 simple steps, for every new email address that you want to create. You can add up to 25 users for free on Zoho. ===== Creating a Group Email ===== Now, a group email helps you send an email to a group of people in your team with addresses like [email protected] or [email protected] Creating a group email is very simple: Just go to your GoDaddy account and click create forward. Now enter the group email that you want to create and then enter the email addresses of all the people to whom you want to forward the mails to. That’s it! We’re done. This is how you can email all your team members at once, using Group Email.
