To create a select box we simply use the html5 document to create our markup for the select box. We will create three different select boxes using the "select" element and the "option" element for creating dropdown lists. To hide the default styling from the select element applied by the browser we will use the css3 appearance property and set its value to none. And then, we will use an another useful rule to hide the default arrows applied by Internet explorer 10; from the select box dropdown. THREE DIFFERENT METHODS THAT WE WILL BE USING Each select box will be using a different method for styling the dropdown arrow inside the combobox. - The first Method will show using an Image Background technique to create custom arrow for the CSS select box. - The second method will use the CSS border property to create a triangular shape that will be used to customize your select element's dropdown arrow. - Finally, the third method will use the fontawesome glyphicon to create our custom arrow for the selectbox dropdown. All, the method will have the cross-browser support for our custom css3 select box. Each method ensures that it works properly in the Internet explorer 10 or above and other older browser. Browser Support: Is it okay if the layout is different in old browsers?

17:44
With things like flexbox, and more importantly css grid, becoming super useful tools for creating our websites, how much do we actually have to worry about browser support? Do things need to look perfect in IE10? Do we even care about IE10? In this video, I explore the idea of partially supporting the older browsers, while focusing more of our time and resources on the newer ones. It's the idea of progressive enhancement, rather than pixel perfection. It's more of a proof of concept video, rather than a real coding video, where I look at something that I already made rather than create something from scratch for this one. What do you think about this approach? Does it make sense? Do you do this in the real world already, or would you're boss / client be willing to allow for something like this? Leave a comment and let me know what you think! Also, if you don't have any analytical data for your site, you can at least check out caniuse.com and get a decent picture, based either on a global audience or for specific countries! Add Your Own Custom Font on Website Using CSS Only :) No Google Font Link

11:33
Welcome, all we will see How we can add our own custom using CSS Only. Source Code Link: https://www.thapatechnical.com/ With the @font-face rule, web designers do not have to use one of the "web-safe" fonts anymore. In the @font-face rule you must first define a name for the font (e.g. myFirstFont), and then point to the font file. Tip: Use lowercase letters for the font URL. Uppercase letters can give unexpected results in IE! To use the font for an HTML element, refer to the name of the font (myFirstFont) through the font-family property: div { font-family: myFirstFont; }

Make a bootabe Linux USB drive

04:04
Rufus download link. https://rufus.akeo.ie/ Linux Mint download link. https://linuxmint.com/edition.php?id=254 Create a bootable USB drive with Rufus Now, let's create our first bootable UFD using Rufus. Follow these steps: Rufus requires an account with admin access in order to make the necessary changes to hardware. After authenticating, insert the USB flash drive and launch Rufus. It will detect the drive almost immediately. Since Rufus can handle various partition schemes and file structures, ensure that the correct settings are set that match the UFD you're going to build. Click the optical drive button next to the Create a bootable disk using checkbox, and you'll be prompted to search for the ISO image to use. When using ISO images, Rufus will automatically modify the settings to best match it. Once everything is set correctly, click the Start button to begin the process. You'll be prompted with a warning that all data on the UFD will be destroyed. Click OK to proceed with the creation process. Depending on the ISO image size, the process may take several minutes to complete. For the log readout of each step in the process, click the Log button to open a side window and save the output details. The longest part of the entire process is the file copy portion. This is typically the last step and varies depending on file size/number of files to copy. When complete, double-check the external drive to verify the files were copied over. With the process completed, simply eject the UFD, insert it into the device you wish to install the OS on, and boot as you normally would. -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "How to install linux on VMware" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Ph5vZvdm9I -~-~~-~~~-~~-~-

CSS - Button With Overflowing Icon

06:49
Code used : https://codepen.io/zFunx/pen/EEBemo Read it in on my blog : https://web.zfunx.com/button-with-overflowing-icon/ We are using Font Awesome 4.7 (https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/font-awesome/4.7.0/css/font-awesome.min.css), css variable and text stroke for this tutorial. Version 5.0.0 of Font Awesome and above not so compatible with this tutorial. But you can apply the idea used here with some little changes to make those higher versions compatible. IE doesn’t support CSS variables, -webkit-text-stroke-color and -webkit-text-stroke-width. We have to add code specially for IE : @media all and (-ms-high-contrast: none), (-ms-high-contrast: active) { .overflow-icon-btn { background-color: dodgerblue; text-shadow: 0 0 8px dodgerblue; box-shadow: 0 0 4px dodgerblue; } .overflow-icon-btn:hover { text-shadow: 0 0 24px dodgerblue; box-shadow: 0 0 12px dodgerblue; } } Website : https://web.zfunx.com/ Facebook : https://www.facebook.com/zfunxWeb Google+ : https://plus.google.com/113560671967552430928 Twitter : http://twitter.com/PleeZfunx Instagram : https://www.instagram.com/zfunx/

[Solved] Get IE Metro Mode Back Windows 8 & Windows 8.1

This Video Explains to you how you can get The Metro Mode of Internet Explorer Back on Windows 8 or Windows 8.1. If the changes don't apply the first time try this: When your in the Program's Tab edit the first Combobox, the text should then be "Let Internet Explorer Decide" instead of "Always Internet Explorer on Desktop" and also make sure that the checkbox is unchecked, but again for all this to be possible you need to make sure that IE is your default web browser

It is a feature available in Internet Explorer which allows you to open multiple webs in a single browser window. In this manner, you can open several websites in one single browser window. You can switch between these different tabs and use multiple websites at one time. Thus in order to make full use of Internet Explorer nowadays, one needs to know what is tabbed browsing. In this tutorial, we will show you how to enable tabbed browsing in internet explorer. Furthermore, we will teach you to work with the turn off tabbed browsing feature in local group policy editor. Step 1 -- Go to Internet Options If the "New Tab" option is disabled by default in Internet Explorer, you can enable the feature by clicking on the "Tools" tab and selecting the "Internet Properties" option from the drop down menu that appears. Step 2 -- Open the General settings Once the Internet options window appears on your screen, go to the tabs section in the general tab and click on the settings button. Step 3 -- Enable Tabbed Browsing Once done, the Tabbed Browsing Settings window opens up. Over here, tick on the check box titled "Enable Tabbed Browsing". Once you're done, click on the "Ok" button at the bottom to proceed further. You will need to restart Internet explorer to enable tabbed browsing. Step 4 -- Open a new tab Now when you open up the browser, move to the files menu on top and you will be able to see that the new tab option has been enabled. Once you click on it, a new tab opens up in the browser. Step 5 -- Open Local Group Policy Editor You can also change the settings of the browser from the Local Group Policy Editor. In order to do that, press the "win + r" key to open up the run command. In the run command, type in "gpedit.msc" and hit the "enter" key to open up the Local Group Policy Editor. Step 6 -- Turn off Tabbed Browsing option Over there, move to the "Administrative Template" directory within the user configuration section and move over to "Windows Components". With that done, click on "Internet Properties" and in the pane towards the right side of the window, locate and double click on "Turn off tabbed browsing". Step 7 -- Enable turn off tabbed browsing feature When the turned off tabbed browsing settings window opens up, you will see 3 options; "Not configured", "Enabled" and "Disabled". Over there, if you click on the "Enabled" option, tabbed browsing will be disabled in internet explorer.

Loading fonts correctly with CSS | Web Design Tutorial

11:40
Using this method to load your web page fonts allows you to not only remove the unwanted effect of "fake" (or faux) font rendering but also lets you take advantage of the standard font-weight and font-style CSS rules. Fake (or faux) font rendering is when the web browser tries its best to apply a weight or style to a font when it does not have the respective version loaded. For example, if a web developer has set the font-weight as "bold" for a particular element but has not provided the "bold" font file (i.e. woff, woff2 etc.) then the browser will "fake" bold it. This means you will get different looks across different browsers. To combat this and to use the font-weight and font-style rules correctly, you can use the method described in this video. An article on fake (or faux) bolding: http://nimbupani.com/fake-bolding-of-web-fonts.html Support me on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/dcode - with enough funding I plan to develop a website of some sort with a new developer experience! How to check if JavaScript is enabled

09:17
Link for all dot net and sql server video tutorial playlists http://www.youtube.com/user/kudvenkat/playlists Link for slides, code samples and text version of the video http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2015/02/how-to-check-if-javascript-is-enabled.html In this video we will discuss how to check if JavaScript is enabled or disabled. Let us understand this with an example. We have a page that captures Name and Gender. Both fields are required. The page relies on JavaScript being enabled for performing validation. We should always have server side validation irrespective of whether we have client side validation or not. It is not a good practice to rely just on client side validation, but for the purpose of this demo, let us say we only have client side validation. If JavaScript is enabled then we want to display the Name and Gender elements and the user can continue to use the application. If JavaScript is disabled then we want to hide the Name and Gender elements and we want to display the following message. It seems that you have disabled JavaScript. Please enable JavaScript. The easiest way to detect if JavaScript is enabled is by using noscript tag. The content inside the [noscript] element will be displayed only if scripts are not supported, or are disabled in the user's browser. [noscript] [style type="text/css"] .rootDiv { display: none; } [/style] [h1]It seems that you have disabled JavaScript. Please enable JavaScript.[/h1] [/noscript] [div id="rootElement" class="rootDiv"] [table border="1"] [tr] [td] Name [/td] [td] [input id="txtName" type="text" onfocus="validateIfEmpty('txtName')" onblur="validateIfEmpty('txtName')" onkeyup="validateIfEmpty('txtName')" /] [/td] [/tr] [tr] [td] Gender [/td] [td] [input id="txtGender" type="text" onfocus="validateIfEmpty('txtGender')" onblur="validateIfEmpty('txtGender')" onkeyup="validateIfEmpty('txtGender')" /] [/td] [/tr] [/table] [/div] [script type="text/javascript"] function validateIfEmpty(control) { var controlToValidate = document.getElementById(control); if (controlToValidate.value == "") { controlToValidate.style.background = "red"; } else { controlToValidate.style.background = "white"; } } [/script]

jquery show hide password

11:01
Link for all dot net and sql server video tutorial playlists https://www.youtube.com/user/kudvenkat/playlists?sort=dd&view=1 Link for slides, code samples and text version of the video http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2015/05/jquery-show-hide-password.html In this video we will discuss how to toggle password visibility using show / hide password checkbox. Here is what we want to achieve 1. When Show password checkbox IS NOT CHECKED, the password should be masked 2. When Show password checkbox IS CHECKED, the password should be in clear text and visible to the user One of the simplest ways of achieving this is by changing the type attribute of the password field depending on the checked status of Show password checkbox 1. If the Show password checkbox is CHECKED change the type to text 2. If the Show password checkbox is NOT CHECKED change the type to password Replace < with LESSTHAN symbol and > with GREATERTHAN symbol The following is the HTML and jQuery code <html> <head> <script src="jquery-1.11.2.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function () { $('#cbShowPassword').click(function () { $('#txtPassword').attr('type', $(this).is(':checked') ? 'text' : 'password'); }); }); </script> </head> <body style="font-family:Arial"> Password : <input type="password" id="txtPassword" /> <input type="checkbox" id="cbShowPassword" />Show password </body> </html> The problem with the above approach is that it does not work in IE 8 and earlier versions. This is because with IE8 and earlier versions the type attribute of input elements cannot be changed once set. The following code works in all browsers including IE8 and earlier versions. When Show password checkbox is clicked 1. Retrieve the value the from the password textbox and store it in a variable for later use. 2. Delete the password input filed. 3. If the "Show password" checkbox is CHECKED, then add a new input filed of type text, else add a new input filed of password. In both the cases set the value attribute of the input element = the variable created in Step 1. <html> <head> <script src="jquery-1.11.2.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function () { $('#cbShowPassword').click(function () { var currentPassowrdFiled = $('#txtPassword'); var currentPassword = currentPassowrdFiled.val(); currentPassowrdFiled.remove(); if ($(this).is(':checked')) { $(this).before('<input type="text" id="txtPassword" value="' + currentPassword + '">'); } else { $(this).before('<input type="password" id="txtPassword" value="' + currentPassword + '">'); } }); }); </script> </head> <body style="font-family:Arial"> Password : <input type="password" id="txtPassword" /> <input type="checkbox" id="cbShowPassword" />Show password </body> </html>

jQuery class selector

Link for all dot net and sql server video tutorial playlists https://www.youtube.com/user/kudvenkat/playlists?sort=dd&view=1 Link for slides, code samples and text version of the video http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2015/03/jquery-class-selector.html In this video we will discuss jQuery class selector i.e selecting elements using their class name Syntax : $('.class') jQuery class selectors uses JavaScript's native getElementsByClassName() function if the browser supports it. $('.small') // Selects all elements with class small $('.small,.big') // Selects all elements with class small or big $('div.small,.big') // Selects div elements with class small and any element with class big Selects all elements with class "small" and sets 5px solid red border [html] [head] [title][/title] [script src="Scripts/jquery-1.11.2.js"][/script] [script type="text/javascript"] $(document).ready(function () { $('.small').css('border', '5px solid red'); }); [/script] [/head] [body] [span class="small"] Span 1 [/span] [br /][br /] [div class="small"] Div 1 [/div] [br /] [span class="big"] Span 2 [/span] [p class="big"]This is a paragraph[/p] [/body] [/html] Selects all elements with class "small" or "big" and sets 5px solid red border [script type="text/javascript"] $(document).ready(function () { $('.small, .big').css('border', '5px solid red'); }); [/script] Selects all elements with class "small" and all span elements with class "big" and sets 5px solid red border [script type="text/javascript"] $(document).ready(function () { $('.small, span.big').css('border', '5px solid red'); }); [/script] Selects all elements with class small that are nested in a an element with id=div2 and sets 5px solid red border [html] [head] [title][/title] [script src="Scripts/jquery-1.11.2.js"][/script] [script type="text/javascript"] $(document).ready(function () { $('#div2 .small').css('border', '5px solid red'); }); [/script] [/head] [body] [div id="div1" class="small"] DIV 1 [/div] [br /] [div id="div2"] Div 2 [br /] [div class="small"] DIV 3 [/div] [br /] [span class="small"] SPAN [/span] [/div] [/body] [/html] Selects all elements with class small and sets 5px solid red border. Notice div1 has 2 classes - small and big. [html] [head] [title][/title] [script src="Scripts/jquery-1.11.2.js"][/script] [script type="text/javascript"] $(document).ready(function () { $('.small').css('border', '5px solid red'); }); [/script] [/head] [body] [div class="small big"] DIV 1 [/div] [br /] [div class="small"] DIV 2 [/div] [/body] [/html] Selects all elements that has both the classes - small and big. There should be no space between the class names. [script type="text/javascript"] $(document).ready(function () { $('.small.big').css('border', '5px solid red'); }); [/script] If you have a space between the two class names then we are trying to find descendants, i.e. find elements with class big that are descendants of an element with class small. [html] [head] [title][/title] [script src="Scripts/jquery-1.11.2.js"][/script] [script type="text/javascript"] $(document).ready(function () { $('.small .big').css('border', '5px solid red'); }); [/script] [/head] [body] [div class="small big"] DIV 1 [/div] [br /] [div class="small"] DIV 2 [div class="big"] DIV 3 [/div] [/div] [/body] [/html] Another way to selects all elements that has both the classes - small and big is by using filter method. But this approach is slower because it will first create a list of objects with class "small" and then removes elements that does not have class "big" [script type="text/javascript"] $(document).ready(function () { $('.small').filter('.big').css('border', '5px solid red'); }); [/script]

After Effects Multimachine Rendering on AWS (2015 version)

41:21
Apologies for the flickering and some sound being cut slightly in incorrect places (you can hear the end of previous sentence). I must attribute this to Techsmith Camtasia, which I used in its version 8 to make this video, only to realize it crashed due to insufficient memory. Version 9 makes that justice and works fine but VERY slow and clunky with projects as big as this. So, once again, apologies for my bad choice of tooling for this video. Here is a step by step list of things to do if you want to perform what's in this video yourself, including all the command-line instructions: Ubuntu Samba server (multi-machine render) =========================== 1. create new spot Ubuntu instance with enough disk space (make sure it's on the same subnet as AE machines) 2. sudo apt-get update 3. sudo apt-get install samba 4. sudo nano /etc/samba/smb.conf ---- at the end of file: [share] comment = Ubuntu File Server Share path = /home/ubuntu/share browsable = yes guest ok = yes read only = no create mask = 0755 5. mkdir /home/ubuntu/share 6. chmod 777 /home/ubuntu/share 7. sudo restart smbd 8. sudo restart nmbd 9. grab this machine's internal IP (from AWS). AE Machine ======= 1. request a GPU g2.8xlarge spot Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 Base instance with the same subnet as the Samba one 2. right-click the machine in AWS and select Get Windows Password 3. select instance and click Connect, download RDP file and start connection (save credentials, although password-less access will be set up later) 4. disable IE protection (Start - Server Management - Local Server - IE Enhanced Security Configuration (click on ON) - disabled 5. install Media Foundation (Start - Server Management - Manage (top right), go next until Media Foundation checkbox is visible) 6. update the machine (Windows Update) 7. enable auto-login (netplwiz.exe) 8. disable password expiration (Start, Administrative Tools, Local Security Policy, Security Settings, Account Policies, Password Policy, Maximum Password Age = 0) 9. show file extensions (file explorer - view - options - change folder and search options - view tab, hide extensions for known file types) 10. Download and install version 347.88 of the GeForce GTX TITAN X driver package for Windows 8.1 (http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/83080, or newly found - http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/125896/) 11. disable basic display adapter (device manager - display adapters - right-click basic display adapter, disable) 12. install 7zip (http://www.7-zip.org/download.html), uTorrent (http://www.utorrent.com/) QuickTime (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/) and iTunes (http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ - for QuickTime support in AE) 13. reboot (next step wouldn't work otherwise) 14. download GRID sdk (https://developer.nvidia.com/grid-app-game-streaming) and from bin run as admin: NvFBCEnable.exe -enable -noreset 15. enable Windows Audio (via Services) 16. install Razer Surround (http://www.razerzone.com/surround) 17. reboot 18. download Adobe Product installers (or torrents) 19. download & install TeamViewer (https://www.teamviewer.com/en/index.aspx), enable for unattended access (use server ID, not user ID - see blue bulb next to user ID, or simply assign to user to add admin TW access link to the list of PCs) 20. download & install zonealarm and set it up for auto-learn mode (http://www.zonealarm.com/security/en-us/fza-install-steps.htm) 21. you'll be logged out of RDP, login via TeamViewer 22. start After Effects installation - only start, don't do anything... once running, block out "Adobe Application Manager" to enable offline installation (do the same for any updates and before starting up AE for the first time, as App Manager updates itself and behaves as a different app in ZoneAlarm on the next run) - if first AE run shows a "sign in" button only, close it and disable Adobe Application Manager in ZoneAlarm again 23. reboot 24. uninstall ZoneAlarm, connect via RDP and uninstall TeamViewer 25. reboot 26. change Admin password to something easier to type (TightVNC does not support clipboard, so this is a paramount step) 27. install TightVNC Server and protect connections using the same password as the admin one for some security or no password for ease of use (http://www.tightvnc.com/download.php) 28. install TightVNC Client on your machine and use it to connect to the instance when you need OpenGL and GPUs to work (RDP does not support this) - http://www.tightvnc.com/download.php 29. disable Maintenance scheduled task - install PsTools (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb897553.aspx) and run: psexec \\%computername% -s schtasks /change /tn "\Microsoft\Windows\TaskScheduler\Maintenance Configurator" /DISABLE, then psexec \\%computername% -s schtasks /change /tn "\Microsoft\Windows\TaskScheduler\Regular Maintenance" /DISABLE

jQuery video tutorial 16 - jQuery group selector

jQuery group selector There are situations where different selectors share similar styles. To reduce code redundancy in CSS it is possible to group selectors. To create group selector; we place selectors one beside another with a comma separator. i.e. selector1,selector2,…. Note: The comma separated list of CSS selectors is called as group selector in CSS. Ex for CSS group selector: tagselector, classselector tagselector, idselector tagselector, idselector, attributeselector etc. Syntax of jQuery group selector: $(“CSS group selector”).action(parameters); To the jQuery function, if we pass the CSS group selector then it is called as jQuery group selector. I.e. a jQuery function with CSS group selector as a parameter is called as jQuery group selector. I.e.: $(“selector1,selector2,…”).action(parameters); To the jQuery function, if we pass comma separated list of CSS selectors then it is called as jQuery group selector Ex: $("h1,p").css("border","2px solid red"); It selects any HTML element on the page, which has the tag name h1 or p; applies the border of 2px solid red Ex: $("p,.solidborder,#redBorder").css("border","2px solid red"); It selects any HTML element on the page, which has the tag name p, class attribute value set to solidborder or an id attribute value set to redBorder; applies the border of 2px solid red ======================================================== Follow the link for next video: https://youtu.be/N96HqRa-uGg Follow the link for previous video: https://youtu.be/l5Y8wADOXBY ========= For more benefits & Be up to date =================== Subscribe to the channel: https://www.youtube.com/chidrestechtu... To select the elements by tag name use jQuery Element Selector Syntax : $(element) $('td') // Selects all td elements $('div a') // Select all anchor elements that are descendants of div element $('div, span, a') // Selects all div, span and anchor elements Alerts the total count of td elements on the page [script type="text/javascript"] $(document).ready(function () { alert($('td').length); }); [/script] Selects all the tr elements on the page and changes their background colour to red [script type="text/javascript"] $(document).ready(function () { $('tr').css('background-Color', 'red'); }); [/script] Alerts the HTML content of the table [script type="text/javascript"] $(document).ready(function () { alert($('table').html()); }); [/script] Alerts the HTML content of each table row [script type="text/javascript"] $(document).ready(function () { $('table tr').each(function () { alert($(this).html()); }); }); [/script] Select and changes the background colour of all the div, span and anchor elements [script type="text/javascript"] $(document).ready(function () { $('div, span, a').css('background-Color', 'yellow'); }); [/script] Select all anchor elements that are descendants of div element [html] [head] [title][/title] [script src="jquery-1.11.2.js"][/script] [script type="text/javascript"] $(document).ready(function () { $('div a').css('background-Color', 'yellow'); }); [/script] [/head] [body] [div] [a href="http://pragimtech.com"]PragimTech[/a] [/div] [br /] [a href="http://microsoft.com"]Microsoft[/a] [/body] [/html] Changes the background color of even rows to gray and odd rows to yellow in both the tables. [script type="text/javascript"] $(document).ready(function () { $('tr:even').css('background-Color', 'gray'); $('tr:odd').css('background-Color', 'yellow'); }); [/script] To change the background color of even rows to gray and odd rows to yellow just for one of the table, use #id selector along with element selector. [script type="text/javascript"] $(document).ready(function () { $('#table1 tr:even').css('background-Color', 'gray'); $('#table1 tr:odd').css('background-Color', 'yellow'); }); [/script]

CSS3 rounded corners feature has made it possible to achieve both of these goals simultaneously. At the dawn of computer era and later the Internet, the virtual world was prevalent with humorless rectangular shapes and pointy ninety-degree angles, which only served to intimidate computer users and web surfers. As the technology and software progressed, graphical interfaces presented people with some friendlier shapes and softer angles. Angular forms tutorial

17:29
In Part 2 of Angular CRUD tutorial, we discussed performing the READ operation. In this video and in the next few videos we will discuss performing the CREATE operation. To understand the CREATE operation, let us build a form that help us create a new employee. For this we will use the createEmployee component that we already created in one of our previous videos in this series. Along the way, we will also discuss performing validation and displaying meaningful error messages to the user. There are 2 ways to create forms in Angular 1. Template Driven Forms 2. Model Driven Forms (Commonly called Reactive Forms) Both these approaches have their own pros and cons. For example, Template Driven forms are generally used to create simple forms. On the other hand, Reactive forms are used to create complex forms. For example, if you want to add form controls dynamically or perform cross-field validation we use the Reactive forms approach. There are several other differences, between Template driven and Reactive forms. We will discuss those differences in detail, in a later video. In this video, we will use the Template driven approach to build the "Create Employee" form. As the name implies, template driven forms are heavy on the template. This means we do most of the work in the view template of the component. Design "Create Employee" form. To keep this simple, at the moment we only have 2 fields (Full Name & Email). We will add the other fields like Gender, Department, Phone Number etc.. later. Also, at the moment, we only have textboxes on our form. In our upcoming videos we will discuss working with radio buttons, checkbox, dropdownlist etc For the form HTML, please refer to our blog using the below link. http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2017/12/angular-forms-tutorial.html Code Explanation: We are using Bootstrap CSS classes like panel, panel-primary, panel-heading, panel-title etc to style the form. There is no Angular here. If you are new to bootstrap, please click here to check out our Bootstrap tutorial using the following link http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2016/05/bootstrap-tutorial-for-beginners.html Consider the following line of code [form #employeeForm="ngForm" (ngSubmit)="saveEmployee(employeeForm)"] #employeeForm is called the template reference variable. Notice we have assigned "ngForm" as the value for the template reference variable employeeForm. So employeeForm variable holds a reference to the form. When Angular sees a form tag, it automatically attaches the ngForm directive to it. The ngForm directive supplements the form element with additional features. It holds all the form controls that we create with ngModel directive and name attribute, and monitors their properties like value, dirty, touched, valid etc. The form also has all these properties. We will discuss these properties at the individual control level and at the form level in detail in our upcoming videos. The ngSubmit directive submits the form when we hit the enter key or when we click the Submit button. When the form is submitted, saveEmployee() method is called and we are passing it the employeeForm. We do not have this method yet. We will create it in the component class in just a bit. The ngForm directive is provided by Angular FormsModule. So for us to be able to use it, we will have to import the FormsModule in our AppModule file (app.module.ts). So please make sure to include the following import statement. Also include "FormsModule" in the imports array of @NgModule decorator. import { FormsModule } from '@angular/forms'; If "FormsModule" is not imported you will see the following error in the browser developer tools there is no directive with exportas set to ngform The ngModel directive is used for creating two-way data binding i.e to keep the HTML element value and it's corresponding component property in sync. We discussed two-way data binding in detail in our Angular 2 course. Use the link below to watch two-way data binding video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBf1nLGuVz8&index=15&list=PL6n9fhu94yhWqGD8BuKuX-VTKqlNBj-m6 Text version of the video http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2017/12/angular-forms-tutorial.html Slides http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2017/12/angular-forms-tutorial-slides.html Angular CRUD Tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJ9o4TyhSuo&list=PL6n9fhu94yhWUcq5Pc16uf8YKXoZ87Vh_ Angular CRUD Tutorial Text Articles & Slides http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2017/12/angular-crud-tutorial.html All Dot Net and SQL Server Tutorials in English https://www.youtube.com/user/kudvenkat/playlists?view=1&sort=dd All Dot Net and SQL Server Tutorials in Arabic https://www.youtube.com/c/KudvenkatArabic/playlists
