CSS Tutorial For Beginners 29 - Text Decoration

04:52
Hey everyone.. Today, in this CSS tutorial, we're gonna take a look at the text-decoration CSS property. Text decoration is most commonly used on links (to underline text) and on lists (to put a line-through on crossed out items). Text decoration is one the 'a' tags default browser style properties, which is why you always see anchor tags being underlined in HTML web pages without any CSS attached to it. How text styles cascade down - Webflow CSS tutorial (using the Old UI)

03:19
In Webflow, as in code, elements pass their typographic style information down to their children. You can set text styles on parent elements, these styles will cascade down, and you can override these styles on their child elements. It’s common to use this technique to set global font styles on the Body tag, to align text and other elements inside of sections, and to override default link block styles. In this article, we’ll cover three examples of how text style cascading works: 1. From the body tag 2. From Webflow's section element 3. From Webflow's link block ---------- Get started with Webflow: https://help.webflow.com/courses/getting-started http://webflow.com http://twitter.com/webflow http://facebook.com/webflow

Remove all styling with one line of CSS

05:45
Happy Friday! To celebrate the coming weekend, let's learn how we can remove all styling from an element with a single line of CSS. We do this with the 'all' property, which does as it sounds, and controls all (or everything). It's as if you selected every single property for your selector. Then, we can reset everything with the 'unset' value, which unsets the values, changing them either to inherit or initial, whichever their default is. This effectively strips all formatting away from your selector and gives you a fresh start to style with. CSS video tutorial - 8 - Precedence of CSS styles

20:57
CSS - Precedence of styles The type of style being considered more important than other is known as precedence of style. The order in which styles are placed determines which style rule takes the highest precedence. The better understanding of precedence of styles will help us to create more organized and manageable code. Important Note: nearest or closest style rule to the tag / element wins. Order of precedence: 1. Inline styles 2. Internal (Embedded) styles 3. External styles. 4. Browser default styles. Browser default styles: Every browser has its own default style rules, those style rules get apply when no styles are defined for a page. External Styles: are styles that are placed in an external sheet (i.e. CSS file). External styles are used to override browser default styles. If more than one CSS files linked then the order in which they placed are considered. Internal Styles: are styles that are placed within header tag. Internal styles are used to override external and browser default styles. Inline Styles: are styles that are placed within opening tag. Inline styles are used to override internal, external and browser default styles. ======================================================== Follow the link for next video: https://youtu.be/uIjQeBemGgE Follow the link for previous video: https://youtu.be/zCry11BLxAk ========= For more benefits & Be up to date =================== Subscribe to "chidres tech tutorials" channel: it's free Visit to Chidre's Tech Tutorials website: https://www.chidrestechtutorials.com Like the Facebook fan page: https://www.facebook.com/ManjunathChidre ======================================================== ========== CSS Questions & Answers ======================== 1. CSS Exercise: Create neon effect on text and other html

17:55
This video shows how to create a neon text effect using just CSS. In this video, I use simple HTML, CSS, Google fonts to create the simple neon effect that you see in the thumbnail. (For the thumbnail, I used 'delius unicase' from Google fonts.) For the text, I used several CSS text-shadows, that turned whiter as it got closer to the text. It turned more blue, green, or yellow as it got further from the text. The box is merely a div using box shadow in the same style. Of course, the box shadow, only puts it outside the box by default. So, I did the same thing again, but put inset on the second set of box shadows. http://www.technoblogical.com/web-design/ Providing training since last Tuesday http://www.technoblogical.com/ Thanks for watching!

Styling Links and Text In WordPress Blocks With HTML

While the default paragraph block doesn't offer much in the way of styling your text, you can always fall back on HTML and add CSS styles directly to text using span tags and the style attribute. So you can make links a different color, bold text, and so on. You can then switch off HTML editing and continue writing.

CSS - Upgrading HTML Tags with Style: Creating a Website Made Easy

20:00
Lesson on Upgrading HTML Tags to CSS Style from Udemy online course: Creating a Website Made Easy Full course description and 25% discount coupon: http://tharsishighlands.com/online-courses/creating-a-website-made-easy/ Transcript: In this lesson, we will take many of the basic HTML tags and use them as CSS element selectors to upgrade their style. In CSS, the HTML tags are called "elements." BODY First, we start with the [body] tag element (YouTube does not allow angle brackets in description). When you first set up your main CSS file, you typically want to establish the basics for your entire page. These can include, • background-color • background-image • default font-size, color and font-family All of these can be handled in the body element. For example, body { background-color: linen; background-image: url("pix/tree.jpg"); font-family: Vera, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; color: #24425C; } SELECTORS We've already seen a little about CSS syntax. For example, h1 { color: blue; } Each CSS style starts with a selector and is followed by one or more declarations within open and close braces — each declaration being a property-value pair: { property: value } Element selectors select all HTML tags of the same name. For instance, for the [p] tag, p { text-align: center; color: red; } [p]All paragraphs with only the p tag are centered and red. This is a demonstration of how the element selector works.[/p] The ID selector uses the ID attribute of an HTML element to select that specific element. ID is a unique identifier. On any one page, there can be only one of that ID. Also, the ID name cannot start with a numeral. For example, #first_heading { color: red; } [h1 id="first_heading"]This is the First Heading on the Page[/h1] The class selector selects all elements with a specific class attribute. .quote { border-style: solid; border-width: 1px; border-color: #880000; padding: 5px; font-size: 18px; font-style: italic; } Here, we see a class called "quote" which uses larger type, italics and a dark red border. Next, is the HTML which uses that class. [p class="quote"]"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy."[/p] A class can be restricted to only one element type. For example, p.first { text-indent: 0px; } This can be helpful if all other paragraphs are given an indent. The first paragraph after a heading can be made flush left. We can also use more than one class at a time. For example, [p class="first quote"]"Houston, we have a problem..."[/p] We've already seen how selectors which share property values can be grouped. h1, h2, h3 { color: steelblue; } In the earlier lesson on the Head section, we learned how to link to an external style sheet — a file with sets of selectors and declarations. For internal CSS, you have the same selector-declaration combinations, but set within open and close [style] tags. [head] [style] body { background-color: darkslateblue; } [/style] [/head] And for inline CSS, you have the same selector-declaration combinations within a style attribute. [p style="text-indent: 50px; color: steelblue;"]This is important text.[/p] Multiple Styles Cascade into One CSS statements have a sequence of priority. The lowest priority of style is the browser defaults. Next are the external and internal style sheets in the head section. Sequence matters, so if you link to your external style sheet after the internal style declarations, the external CSS takes priority over the internal. Finally, the inline style declarations take the highest priority. For all style information that uses the same selectors, the highest priority replaces the lower priorities. For example, External: p { color: blue; text-indent: 30px; } Internal: p { color: green; } Inline: p { color: red; } The final style is: p { color: red; text-indent: 30px; } Background: The following properties control the background of HTML elements. • background-color • background-image • background-repeat • background-attachment • background-position Example: body { background-color: blue; } As we've already learned, colors can be specified, • As Hex — like "#00ffff" • As RGB — like "rgb(0,255,255)" • By name — like "aqua" We will learn more about colors and the new CSS3 color specification in a later lesson. Background Image: The default behavior of a background image is to repeat the image both vertically and horizontally in order to fill the entire background of the element with the selected picture. body { background-image: url("pix/sandbaked.gif"); } [...] In the next lesson, we talk about fonts, tables and links. CSS (Cascading Style Sheet)

10:45
subscribe my channel like share and see more videos CSS Stands for "Cascading Style Sheet." Cascading style sheets are used to format the layout of Web pages. They can be used to define text styles, table sizes, and other aspects of Web pages that previously could only be defined in a page's HTML. CSS helps Web developers create a uniform look across several pages of a Web site. Instead of defining the style of each table and each block of text within a page's HTML, commonly used styles need to be defined only once in a CSS document. Once the style is defined in cascading style sheet, it can be used by any page that references the CSS file. Plus, CSS makes it easy to change styles across several pages at once. For example, a Web developer may want to increase the default text size from 10pt to 12pt for fifty pages of a Web site. If the pages all reference the same style sheet, the text size only needs to be changed on the style sheet and all the pages will show the larger text. While CSS is great for creating text styles, it is helpful for formatting other aspects of Web page layout as well. For example, CSS can be used to define the cell padding of table cells, the style, thickness, and color of a table's border, and the padding around images or other objects. CSS gives Web developers more exact control over how Web pages will look than HTML does. This is why most Web pages today incorporate cascading style sheets.

How to Edit a Style Sheet With a Text Editor

10:03
With the Nepo Press formatting system (http://nepotism.net/formatting), some customizations can be made to your eBook by editing the default style sheet (named style.css). This video shows how to make a simple change to a style sheet using Windows 7 and its included text editor Notepad. First, we copy style.css in a file browser (Windows Explorer) and rename the copy to custom.css. Then, we edit custom.css to adjust the vertical spacing between paragraphs. To tell the formatting system to use custom.css instead of style.css, a style tag needs to be added to the manuscript as described in the Nepo Press documentation. CSS Tutorial 14

02:31
CSS Stands for "Cascading Style Sheet." Cascading style sheets are used to format the layout of Web pages.

Styling HTML5 Form Validation Messages with CSS3

13:30
In this screencast I demonstrate a hidden CSS3 feature of webkit, that allows us to override the default styling of the validation bubbles. You would think adjusting the CSS of the validation bubbles would be straight forward, and that you could jump into chrome developer tools and monkey around with the way they look. Unfortunately not. :( These CSS3 features are not so openly documented and as easy to modify as we would like. Basically it requires a little "under the hood monkey wrenching", however, luckily for us these validation bubbles are completely customizable. As long as you have some basic CSS styling chops, and know which "hidden selectors" do the all magic, you can make theses things look exactly as you want them to. - For all the project files, head to http://bit.ly/css3forms - Check out Marakana's HTML5 and other training courses here: http://mrkn.co/j6rti
