Japanese Street Food - LIVE FUGU PUFFERFISH Puffer Fish Japan

15:03
Fugu (河豚 or 鰒; フグ) is the Japanese word for pufferfish and the dish prepared from it, normally species of genus Takifugu, Lagocephalus, or Sphoeroides, or porcupinefish of the genus Diodon. Fugu can be lethally poisonous due to its tetrodotoxin; therefore, it must be carefully prepared to remove toxic parts and to avoid contaminating the meat. The restaurant preparation of fugu is strictly controlled by law in Japan and several other countries, and only chefs who have qualified after three or more years of rigorous training are allowed to prepare the fish. Domestic preparation occasionally leads to accidental death. Fugu is served as sashimi and chirinabe. Some consider the liver to be the tastiest part, but it is also the most poisonous, and serving this organ in restaurants was banned in Japan in 1984. Fugu has become one of the most celebrated and notorious dishes in Japanese cuisine.

Amazing Underwater Marine Life

05:09
Amazing Underwater Marine Life Enjoy this relaxing underwater video from the philippines. Most of the time the ocean appears to be blue because this is the color our eyes see. But the ocean can be many other colors depending upon particles in the water, the depth of the water, and the amount of skylight. The colors we see depend upon the reflection of the visible wavelengths of light to our eyes. Wavelengths of light pass through matter differently depending on the material's composition. Blue wavelengths are transmitted to greater depths of the ocean, while red wavelengths are absorbed quickly. Water molecules scatter blue wavelengths by absorbing the light waves, and then rapidly reemitting the light waves in different directions. That is why there are mostly blue wavelengths that are reflected back to our eyes. Sometimes oceans look green. This may be because there is an abundance of plant life or sediment from rivers that flow into the ocean. The blue light is absorbed more and the yellow pigments from plants mix with the blue light waves to produce the color green. Sometimes parts of the oceans will look milky brown after a storm passes. This is because winds and currents associated with the storm churn up sand and sediment from the rivers that lead into the oceans. The ocean may also reflect the blue sky. However this is prominent only at relatively low angles and when the water is smooth. Apart from the blue ocean color the most interesting thing in the ocean are the marine animals living in this habitat. Also their color is without light that bright as we see it in underwater photographs or underwater DVD Videos. This film was filmed with dive lights mounted on a underwater video camera and shows spectacular colors of the ocean inhabitants the graceful marine creatures.

Flying Fish Picked Off From Above And Below | The Hunt | BBC Earth

Flying fish can make powerful, self-propelled leaps out of water into air, where their long, wing-like fins enable gliding flight for considerable distances. It appears these Flying Fish are in a no win situation, picked off above the surface by Frigatebird's and devoured underwater by the Dorado. Starfish Walking on the Beach

01:27
Shortcut to get back to this video: WalkingStarfish.com It was early evening, probably around 6pm or so at low tide. We noticed there were starfish walking around on the sand near the water. Some were in tide pools but some were just strolling on the sand, very very very slowly. The ones that were on the sand we carefully relocated back to the ocean or a tide pool. Other people coming out to the beach were fascinated by the large amount of starfish and helped relocate the walkers to the water as well. This was shot on the Outer Banks of North Carolina (specifically Corolla, NC) in early October 2012. Almost the exact same spot on the beach that a WWII mine washed up in late September 2017 (https://outerbanksvoice.com/2017/09/25/unexploded-mines-wash-up-on-hatteras-and-corolla-beaches/) Also, to clear up the questions about the "foot" in the video. It's my son's foot and he was squatting down. He was 4 at the time of the video. Looks like a strange deformed thing but it's just a normal 4 year old's foot. Living up a bum - The Sea Cucumber and Pearl Fish

05:44
They say 'Home is where the heart is', well for some 'Home is where the bum is'.. Wait! What? Backup! Yep you heard right 'Home is where the bum is', if you're a pearl fish and that bum is a sea cucumber. Sea cucumbers are sausage shape animals that are found on the bottom of the ocean where they vacuum up the sand and filter out all the good bits. It seems as though pearl fish have taken a bit of a fancy for some particular sea cucumbers and set up house in their rear end. Why? Is it the million dollar ocean views? We asked all these questions and more. The upside is, any place you live from now on is going to seem like paradise. These Fish Are All About Sex on the Beach | Deep Look

During the highest tides, California grunion stampede out of the ocean to mate on the beach. When the party's over, thousands of tiny eggs are left stranded up in the sand. How will their lost babies make it back to the sea? SUBSCRIBE to Deep Look! http://goo.gl/8NwXqt DEEP LOOK is a ultra-HD (4K) short video series created by KQED San Francisco and presented by PBS Digital Studios. See the unseen at the very edge of our visible world. Get a new perspective on our place in the universe. Explore big scientific mysteries by going incredibly small. * NEW VIDEOS EVERY OTHER TUESDAY! * With summer just around the corner, Southern California beaches are ready to welcome the yearly arrival of some very unique and amorous guests. That’s right, the grunion are running! California grunion are fish that spend their lives in the ocean. But when the tides are at their highest during spring and summer, grunion make a trip up onto beaches to mate and lay eggs. Grunion mate on beaches throughout southern California and down into into Mexico. The grunion runs have taken on a special importance to coastal communities Santa Barbara to San Diego. For some, coming out to see the grunion run has been an annual tradition for generations. For others it’s a rare chance to catch ocean fish with their bare hands. --- What are grunion? California grunion are schooling fish similar to sardines that live in the Pacific Ocean that emerge from the sea to lay their eggs on the sand of beaches in Southern California and down the Baja California Peninsula in Mexico. There are also smaller populations in Monterey Bay and San Francisco Bay. Another species, the Gulf Grunion lays their eggs in the northern shores of the Gulf of California. California Grunion are typically about six inches in length. --- Why do grunion mate on land? The ocean is full of predators who would like to gobble up a tasty fish egg. The grunion eggs tend to be safer up on the beach if they can make it there without raising the attention of predators like birds and raccoons. Grunion eggs have a tough outer layer that keeps them from drying out or being crushed by the sand. --- When do California grunion run? California grunion typically spawn from March to August. The fishing season is closed during the peak spawning times during May and June. Living on the Ocean Floor - footage recorded by Vincent Zintzen, Te Papa Fish Team, Natural Environment. Film recorded using a baited Lander in various locations and depths around NZ. The video unit lights up the dark world of the deep sea. Food is scarce so the animals that live in the depths are attracted to the bait. The camera reveals the interesting behaviour of these creatures as they strive to survive in their extreme environment The footage of the seal shark attacking the hagfish, and getting a mouthful of slime for his troubles, is a good example of the knowledge gained through this difficult and exacting research. The anglerfish: The original approach to deep-sea fishing

02:19
Deep-sea anglerfish are strange and elusive creatures that are very rarely observed in their natural habitat. Fewer than half a dozen have ever been captured on film or video by deep diving research vehicles. This little angler, about 9 cm long, is named Melanocetus. It is also known as the Black Seadevil and it lives in the deep dark waters of the Monterey Canyon. MBARI's ROV Doc Ricketts observed this anglerfish for the first time at 600 meters on a midwater research expedition in November 2014. We believe that this is the first video footage ever made of this species alive and at depth. Who Lives at the Bottom of the Bermuda Triangle?

09:11
There is one special place that simultaneously terrifies and has unexplainable pull: 300 ships gone missing, 75 aircrafts never found; you're right, that's all about the Bermuda Triangle. Few people are aware of what the life is like at the bottom of the Bermuda Triangle – are you ready to meet the most shocking and scary creatures ever? Dragonfish live at the staggering depth of 5 to 7 thousand feet. This fish looks quite terrifying, with its black coloring and the light it produces on its own. Unlike other deep-water inhabitants, dragonfish produces light in the infrared range while the blue and green range is what other fish stick to. Vampire Squid has the largest eyes in terms of proportions in the world and is born to live in the depth. These animals are also covered with photophores which distract predators and lure prey. The mouth of the gulper eel is loosely hinged which makes it extremely wide and big. In fact, the length of the jaw of the eel reaches one-fourth of the length of their body. Despite being the owner of an enormous mouth, the gulper eel has tiny teeth, and this means that it isn't supposed to prey on large animals. The Goblin Shark reaches 13 ft in size and is also called the Vampire Shark due to the fact that it avoids light at all cost. Due to this feature, you can see the shark in its natural habitat only if you go as deep as 890 to 4300 ft. Pharynx, a complex feeding apparatus that helps Eunice Aphroditois catch the prey, can turn inside out, not unlike glove fingers. It has strong and extremely sharp mandibles which can easily cut the prey in half due to the strength and speed of the worm's attack. These are just some of the creatures that lurk in the depth of the Bermuda Triangle. Who knows what other unbelievable horror-movie beasts we can meet there? Nobody knows for sure what makes crafts disappear in this area. -Dragonfish looks quite terrifying, with its black coloring and the light it produces on its own in case of danger. -The Vampire Squid has is bright red eyes and crimson cloak that looks like webbing. In case of a threat, these creatures can invert their skin exposing their spines. -The pouch-like structure of the lower jaw allows the eel to deposit its prey there. Even the stomach of the eel can stretch so much that the creature can hold there a huge amount of food. -The Goblin Shark reaches 13 ft in size and is also called the Vampire Shark due to the fact that it avoids light at all cost. As soon as the prey appears in the vicinity, the jaw of the shark will elongate and grab it. -The worm buries itself in the seafloor with just a fraction of its body exposed. It has five antennae it uses to sense the prey. What Lives At The BOTTOM Of The Mariana Trench?

11:45
Do you ever wonder what lives at the bottom of the mariana trench? This top 10 list of creepy deep sea monsters has some giant and bizarre creatures that are scary and mysterious! Subscribe For New Videos! http://goo.gl/UIzLeB Watch our "MYSTERIOUS Creatures Living At The BOTTOM Of The World!" video here: https://youtu.be/Efhjc-Gu508 Watch our "SECRETS Casinos DON'T Want You To Find Out!" video here: https://youtu.be/hAoABuvzOZM Watch our "RAREST And Most EXPENSIVE Cars In The World!" video here: https://youtu.be/MtCnWSqqilg 10. Frilled Shark The frilled shark has been around a long, LONG time. They’re ‘living fossils’, thought to have been swimming around for anywhere between 95 and 300 million years! Also while they were first discovered in approx 1880 they weren’t actually described until 2004 (the same ROV mission as the barreleye fish). This is one predator that really knows how to keep its head down. It lives at a depth of over 5,000 ft (1524 m). 9. Hatchet Fish Okay so if you came face to face with this dude you’d get one hell of a shock right? Meet the deep sea hatchet fish, so called because of its metallic, hatchet-shaped appearance. It can be found 5,000 ft (1,524 m) down. The metal like quality comes from its scales which is just as well because if it weren’t so shiny you’d have trouble seeing it! 8. Seadevil Anglerfish You’ve probably seen this one in the movies. A seadevil anglerfish appeared in Finding Nemo and the image has been used in some high profile shows like The Simpsons. They were first described in 1864 and can live at a depth of over 6,000 feet (1900 m). Like many deep sea species its movements are mysterious to experts and the only one filmed alive was in 2014. 7. Telescope Octopus Some deep sea animals like to take it easy, I mean there’s a lot of pressure down there!! Maybe none more so than the telescope octopus. Living anywhere from 500 - 6,500 ft (150 - 2000 m) below the surface it’s really laid back. In fact that’s literally what it does… lie back and use its eyes to look up for any food swimming by. 6. Benthocodon Usually when you think of a jellyfish you think of a transparent wobbly thing that stings your foot. Well not this one. The benthocodon isn’t transparent. It has a round, red top which is 2 - 3 cm in diameter and it won’t sting you unless you run into it 2,500 ft (762 m) below the surface. You’d have to be pretty crazy to be at that depth and even crazier without any flippers! 5. Barreleye Fish This fish with a transparent head shocked viewers when it appeared on Blue Planet! Also known as a “spookfish” it has a jelly-like forehead that allows it to look up through its skull, giving it greater visibility! Pretty freaky huh? It is a very efficient hunter that can live at a depth of at least 2,600 feet (800 m) and can be anywhere from 15 to 40 cm long. 4. Goblin Shark This shark is one ugly shark, hence why we call it the goblin shark! Of course I wouldn’t say that to its face poor thing! But its sword-like snout and prehistoric appearance makes it truly unique. 3. Zombie Worm Zombie worms, also known as bone-eating worms, were discovered by accident in 2002 when they appeared to be drilling into the skeletons of dead animals like whales and fish. This confused experts because they looked too squishy to be able to drill like that, but that is how they got their name. The answer came later on in 2012. 2. Foraminifera Foraminifera or ‘fora’ are tiny organisms from the ‘protist’ family. They vary between 100 micrometers and around 20 cm. Because many of them are so small and I’m guessing chewy, they are a prime source of food in the Mariana Trench. That’s a shame because there’s a lot more to these little things than meets the eye. 1. Ping Pong Tree Sponge The strangest name on our list is also the nastiest! Sure, Ping Pong Tree Sponge sounds like something out of Spongebob Squarepants and it’s one beautiful-looking life form. But despite this charming exterior this isn’t a thing to be messed with! It lives nearly 9000 ft (2743 m) underwater and if you’re a small creature it spells bad news. Origins Explained is the place to be to find all the answers to your questions, from mysterious events and unsolved mysteries to everything there is to know about the world and its amazing animals!
