Gold and Silver Britannia Coin Information Hi, I’m Lizzie, welcome to Chard TV. Many countries now issue a one ounce bullion coin, to be sold at a very low premium over the intrinsic metal value. The British version is the Britannia. Britannia first appeared on coins of the Roman Emperor Hadrian in AD119 over 2000 years ago. As an ancient British queen who defied the mighty Roman invasion, she has become the symbol of the Great British nation. Gold Britannias were introduced in 1987, in four weights from one ounce to fractional sizes of half ounce, quarter ounce, and tenth ounce and must rank amongst the most world's most beautiful bullion coins. These first Britannias were struck in 22 carat gold. The coins are issued in both proof and uncirculated finishes, although most of the proof coins are only available as part of complete sets. Following on from the success of the gold version, the silver Britannia was introduced in 1997 on the tenth anniversary of the gold Britannia. Initially, the silver Britannia coins were struck in Britannia silver which is 958 parts per thousand silver, instead of sterling silver of 925 parts per thousand, which was the popular fineness at the time. In 2013 the Royal Mint decided to change the alloy of the Britannia coins in both silver and gold to 0.999 bringing it in line with the majority of bullion coins from other World Mints. 0.999 fineness is also known as 24 carat. The concept of the one ounce bullion coin was to provide an easy way to purchase convenient small quantities of bullion gold and silver in the form of coins. The silver 1oz coin has a face value of £2 and the gold 1oz coin has a face value of £100; each contains one troy ounce of silver and gold respectively. The 1oz coins remain the most popular Sterling coins for investors. They attract low premiums and are exempt from Capital Gains Tax. The smaller coins attract a much higher premium. There have been some beautiful designs on the proof Britannias and the earlier uncirculated Britannias which are highly sought after by collectors. However, in recent years the design has remained the same on the bullion coin and collectors have been disappointed with the finish on the uncirculated coins compared with earlier years. The Standing Britannia design by sculptor Philip Nathan used on the uncirculated Britannia coins was based on the original engraving by George William De Saulles. The obverse of the 2015 uncirculated gold and silver coins feature the fourth portrait of the Queen; this has been replaced by the fifth definitive UK coin portrait on the 2015 proof coins and will feature on both uncirculated and proof 2016 coins. Chinese Gold and Silver Panda Bullion Coin Information

03:23
Visit http://24carat.co.uk/frame.php?url=chinesesilverpandacoins.html for more information about Chinese Silver Panda Coins or visit http://taxfreegold.co.uk/pandasinfo.html for more information about Gold Chinese Pandas. China has been issuing its Panda bullion coins for an easy way to purchase convenient small quantities of silver and gold in the form of coins. Additionally, the new one ounce coins, are an attractive design, made to appeal to collectors. Video Script Hello I'm Lynne, Welcome to Chard TV. The official mint of the Peoples Republic of China produce a variety of coins in different alloys and sizes. One of their most popular, is the gold bullion coinage of the Panda series. The one ounce gold Panda was first introduced in 1982, followed by the fractional sizes of a half, a quarter, a tenth and a twentieth. all in .999 fine gold. The gold series is regularly produced in the five different sizes. There is also a silver Panda series issued with the same design as the gold. The silver Pandas were first issued in 1983 in proof version only with the one ounce version being introduced in 1989. Platinum and palladium coins are also minted with the same popular Panda design although they are somewhat rarer and command higher premiums. The Panda coins are legal tender in the Peoples Republic of China and are collectable worldwide due to their high quality finish and beautiful designs. There are several mints that produce these coins including Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai and Shenyang. China changes the design on the reverse of the coin each year different portraits of the Panda make the coins very attractive to collectors. The only exception to this is 2001 and 2002 where there was a freeze on the design. Because of this the two years do share the same design. however collectors spoke up, preferring the annual changes. so China reverted back to their original policy. On the reverse of the coin, you can also see stamped at the bottom the actual weight and the fineness of the gold. Because of this change in design each year it no doubt adds to the collectability of these coins. The obverse of the coin features the Temple of Heaven one of Chinas most celebrated, architectural and historical wonders. At the top there are Chinese characters which say Peoples Republic of China and at the bottom is the year of issue. 2015 has seen quite a big change for this popular coin as its the first time since 1982 with the exception of the one kilogram coin that the Pandas have been issued in metric weights. Although the gold and silver Pandas will be the same weight and fineness as in previous years the 2015 coins will no longer have either of these elements stamped on the reverse. This is because the Chinese Mint are marketing the coins in grams and kilos within China and in ounces for the international market. What are your thoughts on the new changes? American Gold and Silver Eagle Coin Information

Most countries issue a bullion coin which is to be sold at a low premium over the intrinsic metal value. The American version is the Eagle. The US Mint's Eagle bullion coins are an easy way to purchase convenient small quantities of silver and gold in the form of coins. The American Eagle is a very popular bullion coins with both for collectors and investors. Video Script Hi I'm Lizzie, welcome to Chard TV. Most countries issue a bullion coin which is to be sold at a low premium over the intrinsic metal value. The American version is the Eagle. Following the success of the Krugerrand, in 1986, America introduced the bullion Eagle coins in gold and silver. The platinum coins were introduced a year later in 1987. As with all bullion coins the idea was to provide an easy way to purchase in the convenient form of coins. The modern bullion gold Eagle was based on the historic twenty US dollar Double Eagle which was issued as currency in America between 1849 and 1933. The design of the new Gold Eagles has remained the same every year. The obverse features a magnificent version of American sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens' full length figure of Liberty with flowing hair, holding a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. The reverse features a male eagle carrying an olive branch, flying above a nest containing a female eagle and eaglets. This symbolises family tradition and of course, the unity of the United States. The gold Eagles are struck in 0.9167 fineness and are issued in four weights – 1/10th, ¼, ½ and 1oz. On the earlier gold bullion Eagles, from 1986 to 1991, the date is shown in Roman numerals. From 1992 it is shown in Arabic numerals. The silver Eagles have a denomination of US $1. They are 1oz coins and are struck in 0.999 fineness. The obverse features Adolph A. Weinman's iconic Walking Liberty design which originally featured on US silver Half Dollars from 1916 through 1947. The reverse design is by John Mercanti. The heraldic eagle behind a shield holds an olive branch in its right talon and arrows in its left. The thirteen five-pointed stars represent the Thirteen Colonies. Whilst the design has remained consistent there have been a number of special edition Eagles, for example the Four Seasons, the Coloured Eagle, the Hologram, privy marks and special editions such as the Titanic. The platinum Eagles are struck in 0.9995 fineness. They're issued in weights of 1oz, ½, ¼ and 1/10oz and are only issued in a proof finish. The obverse features a close up of the Statue of Liberty – the symbol of freedom to the United States whilst the reverse design changes annually. As with all bullion coins, the lower the weight, the higher the premium. The United States of America is the world's largest economy and probably has the largest coin collector's market in the world. The American Eagle is a very popular bullion coins with both for collectors and investors. ILLEGAL 1933 GOLD COIN SOLD FOR 7.6 MILLION! RARE COINS WORTH MONEY TAKEN BY SECRET SERVICE

11:05
This illegal to own 1933, $20 double eagle gold coin sold for 7.6 million dollars at auction. Could you imagine having such a coin confiscated by the secret service? Enjoy the story about this rare coin worth big money! Information sourced from Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1933_double_eagle The 1933 double eagle is a United States 20-dollar gold coin. Although 445,500 specimens of this Saint-Gaudens double eagle were minted in 1933, none were ever officially circulated and all but two were ordered melted down. However, 20 more are known to have been rescued from melting by being stolen, and found their way into the hands of collectors. 19 of these were subsequently recovered by the Secret Service, who destroyed nine of them, making this one of the world's rarest coins. The two intentionally spared coins are in the U.S. National Numismatic Collection, one is in the hands of a private owner who paid US$7.59 million for it in 2002–the second-highest price paid at auction for a single U.S. coin–and ten others are held in Fort Knox. In 1933, in an attempt to end the 1930s general bank crisis, U.S. president Franklin D. Roosevelt issued Executive Order 6102. Congress additionally passed the Gold Reserve Act in 1934, which outlawed the circulation and private possession of United States gold coins for general circulation, with an exemption for collector coins. This act declared that gold coins were no longer legal tender in the United States, and people had to turn in their gold coins for other forms of currency. The 1933 gold double eagles were struck after this executive order, but because they were no longer legal tender, most of the 1933 gold coins were melted down in late 1934 and some were destroyed in tests. Two of the $20 double eagles were presented by the United States Mint to the U.S. National Numismatic Collection, and they were recently on display in the "Money and Medals Hall" on the third floor of the National Museum of American History. These two coins should have been the only 1933 double eagle coins in existence. However, unknown to the mint, a number of the coins (20 have been recovered so far) were stolen, possibly by the U.S. Mint cashier, and found their way via Philadelphia jeweler Israel Switt into the hands of collectors. The coins circulated among collectors for several years before the Secret Service became aware of their existence. The matter came to the attention of mint officials when an investigative reporter looked into the history of the coins he had spotted in an upcoming Stack's Bowers coin auction and contacted the Mint as part of his research. As a result, an official investigation into the matter was launched by the Secret Service in March 1944. Prior to the investigation, a Texas dealer sold one of the coins to a foreign buyer, and it left the U.S. on February 29, 1944. During the first year of the investigation, seven coins were seized or voluntarily turned in to the Secret Service and were subsequently destroyed at the Mint; an eighth coin was recovered the following year and met the same fate. In 1945, the investigation identified the alleged thief and his accomplice, Switt, who admitted to selling the nine (located) coins, but could not recall how he obtained them. The Justice Department tried to prosecute them, but the statute of limitations had passed. A tenth coin was recovered and destroyed in 1952. In contrast, the 1933 Eagle was issued before Roosevelt's withdrawal order, so they may be legally owned by private citizens. However, it is estimated that no more than 40 exist, the rest having been melted, making them exceptionally rare. The missing double eagle was acquired by King Farouk of Egypt, who was a voracious collector of many things, including imperial Fabergé eggs, antique aspirin bottles, paperweights, postage stamps—and coins, of which he had a collection of over 8,500. In 1944 Farouk purchased a 1933 double eagle, and in strict adherence with the law, his ministers applied to the United States Treasury Department for an export license for the coin. Mistakenly, just days before the mint theft was discovered, the license was granted. The Treasury Department attempted to work through diplomatic channels to request the return of the coin from Egypt, but World War II delayed their efforts for several years. In 1952, King Farouk was deposed in a coup d'etat, and many of his possessions were made available for public auction (run by Sotheby's) – including the double eagle coin. The United States government requested the return of the coin, and the Egyptian government stated that it would comply with the request. However, the coin disappeared and was not seen again in Egypt. In 1996, a double eagle surfaced again after over 40 years of obscurity, when British coin dealer Stephen Fenton was arrested by U.S. Secret Service agents during a sting operation at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York.

How to Calculate Premiums on Gold Coins

04:04
A question we're often asked by our customers is "What is a Premium? In this video we explain what a premium is and how to calculate a premium when buying gold coins. A question we are often asked by our customers is: "What is a premium?". If we use gold as our example, quite simply it's the difference between the intrinsic value of the gold content in the coin and the final price you pay. A premium can be expressed as an amount or a percentage but in our experience, a percentage is the most useful . Especially when making comparisons between the various coins or dealers. On most of our gold bullion pages we give a table which shows the premium for the coins and the various quantities. This amount is included in the final price but is shown so customers can make a comparison. If we take a one ounce Krugerrand, as an example and for ease of calculation, if we use a spot price of a thousand pounds, then the value of the gold in that coin would be one thousand pounds. If the final price was one thousand and fifty five pounds then the premium would be £55. £55 pounds above the intrinsic value of the gold in the coin. We can express this another way, as we've said before, a 5.5 percent. Where does this extra amount or premium come from and why do coins which contain exactly the same amount of gold come to a different price? There's a variety of reasons. This extra amount can come from manufacturing, distribution and marketing costs. The level of the coin's availability versus its popularity. In other words, supply and demand and price increases from manufacture as the coin travels along the distribution chain. Smaller coins, fractional sizes, and coins which are harder to produce often command higher premiums as do the rarer coins or coins with a numismatic interest. Manufacturing costs differ between countries, an example being China. The Chinese Panda often has a higher premium, than say, the Krugerrand or other popular bullion coins, as the Chinese mint have a higher premium and this is then passed along the chain. We can have a look at some popular coins and compare the premiums which should help when you're deciding how to get the best from your investment. If we again use a spot price of the thousand pounds and look at the percentage premium over gold, it's quite easy to compare and help when deciding how best to invest. Our standard advice is look for the best value, go for the lowest premium, within reason, and instead of comparing prices, compare premiums. It's also worth remembering the factors that should be taken into consideration for when you're thinking about selling. There's the fluctuating gold price. Is your product easily available and easily sold? What percentage below or above spot are likely to receive when you sell your investment? Are you clearly looking at it from the investing point of view? Or are you looking at it from a collecting or numismatic point of view? If the latter is the case, then that's another video. Buying Lunar Coins - Perth Mint Chinese Lunar Coin Information

04:04
As one of the Perth Mints UK distributors we offer the Australian Lunar coins on our websites - http://taxfreegold.co.uk/australiachineselunarcalendargoldcoins.html and http://24carat.co.uk/frame.php?url=australia.html The Perth Mint have been issuing Chinese Lunar coins in gold and silver since 1996, today we’ll take a look at these highly collectable coins. The Chinese lunar calendar is based on a 12 year cycle. There are 12 symbols, one for each year, which are based on the animals of the zodiac. Its use has been traced back to the 14th century and is used by the Chinese community all over the world for influencing festivals and important personal dates such as wedding and engagements. The Perth Mint started issuing Chinese Lunar coins in gold and silver since 1996, which was the Year of the Rat. Each year they issue gold and silver coins in 99.99% fineness. The gold coins range sizes from 1/20th oz to 1 kilo whilst the silver coins range from ½ oz to 10 kilos. Whilst they are all legal tender in Australia, as in the UK, you would be rather foolish to offer one of these coins in payment as their intrinsic value is many times higher than their face value. The Perth Mint Lunar 1oz and 10 kilo coins are issued to a limited mintage. They are only available from the Perth Mint until the mintage is fully sold or at the end of the year, whichever comes first. The 10 kilo silver Lunar coins are limited to 150 they are only available on a mint to order basis and are often sold out within days of issue. The rest of the sizes are available on a mint to order basis until the end of the year. Pert Mint Lunar coins are highly collectible and sought after by collectors, earlier coins rarely come back onto the market. We have a wish list – as soon as they come in they usually go straight out again. Lunar coins are issued by a number of other mints including the Royal Canadian Mint, the China Mint, New Zealand Mint, and in 2014 the Royal Mint launched their first lunar coins the Shengxiao Collection. The obverse features Ian Rank-Broadley’s fourth portrait of the Queen. The reverse is designed by British Chinese artist Wuon-Gean Ho and combines both British and Chinese heritage. This year the Chinese year 4713 starts on the February 19th, 2015. The goat (or sheep) is the 8th animal in the lunar cycle. It is seen as particularly lucky as the number 8 symbolises peace and prosperity in Chinese culture. The goat is also thought to bring harmony and growth. Lunar coins are very desirable amongst collectors and are ideal for the ancient tradition of gifting and wishing good fortune and prosperity to the recipient. Lunar coins are very desirable amongst collectors and are ideal for the ancient tradition of gifting and wishing good fortune and prosperity to the recipient. Typically money is placed in a red envelope called ‘Hong Bao’ which is given by adults, especially parents and grand-parents, to suppress the evil from the children, keep the children healthy, and long living.

Corporations go bankrupt, currencies collapse, stock markets crash, wars erupt, and governments fall. Through it all–deflation and inflation, depression and prosperity, boom and bust, war and peace–gold has stood firm as a store of value and a trusted medium of exchange. Paper assets can indeed soar in value, but they can also become completely worthless. Gold has intrinsic value. Never will you hear someone say that gold “is not worth the paper it’s printed on.” Gold is an asset in its own right. How do I determine the value of my gold coins

02:59
free information on how to value your gold coins plus a free gold information kit for learning more about is now is the right time for you to buy gold coins. Value of my pre-1933 gold coins Rare coins have produced exceptional long-term performance for their owners. This track record stems from the basic fundamental factors which drive the rare coin market. Nobody is minting any more rare coins. In fact, the last rare gold coin emerged from the mint in 1933. As a result, supplies of rare coins are constantly and inevitably diminishing as coins are taken off the market for inclusion in closely-held family collections and long-term portfolios. Demand, on the other hand, has been on an upward trajectory for many years. This simple set of circumstances explains why rare coins increase in value over the long haul. Professional Coin Grading Service PCGS, one of the world?s two largest coin grading and certification firms, which has been in business since 1986, maintains indices to track the performance of the rare coin market. In fact, According to PCGS, one of two premier coin grading companies in the world, mint state rare coins have outperformed bullion close to 4 to 1 since 1971.* * this average is calculated using the pcgs.com chart entitled “Mint State Rare Gold Coin Index” and is compared against a bullion start price of $35oz in 1971 Gold Bullion Coins Gold bullion coins are legal tender of the country of issuance, and their gold content is guaranteed. Each bullion coin bears a face value that is largely symbolic; its true value depends on its gold content and the day-to-day changing price for gold. While bullion coins are normally purchased for their intrinsic value, they are also appreciated for their artistic appeal and beauty. Value of my gold bullion coins Bullion coins are available in a variety of sizes, ranging from 1/20 oz. to 1 Kilo, but the most popular and widely traded size is 1 ounce. A bullion coin provides outright, direct ownership of pure gold, and because it is legal tender, its authenticity is guaranteed by the country of origin. Gold bullion coins can be easily bought and sold virtually anywhere in the world. Among the most popular bullion coins are the Gold American Eagle, the Gold American Buffalo, the South African Krugerrand, the Gold Canadian Maple Leaf, the Australian Kangaroo Nugget, and the Austrian Vienna Philharmonic. Gold Coins India

04:33
Coinage of India, issued by Imperial dynasties and smaller middle kingdoms of India began during the 1st millennium BCE, and consisted mainly of copper and silver coins in its initial stage. Scholars remain divided over the origins of Indian coinage. In recent discoveries punched mark 'Mudras'(Coins) of stone have been found in lost city of Dwaraka. Which is said to be existed at least 5000 years ago. What is known, however, is that metal currency was minted in India well before the Mauryan empire (322–185 BCE), and as radio carbon dating indicates, before the 5th century BCE. The tradition of Indian coinage was further influenced by the coming of Turkicand Mughal conqurors in India, their main influence on Indian coinage was the use of Arabic script. The East India Company introduced uniform coinage in the 19th century, and these coins were later imitated by the modern nation states of Republic of India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. Numismatics plays a valuable role in determining certain period of Indian history. Make money publishing other peoples videos has got to be one of the easiest ways to generate income online! WHERE TO BUY GOLD COINS IN USA: http://www.regalassets.com/a/1921 THIS IS THE BEST RATED GOLD COMPANY IN USA SO CLICK LINK ABOVE FOR BEST PLACE TO BUY SILVER AND GOLD COINS AND BARS ONLINE. YOU WILL LEARN HOW TO BUY SILVER BARS ONLINE FOR THE BEST LONG TERM PRECIOUS METALS INVESTING - FOR BEST REVIEWED GOLD & SILVER COINS AND BARS COMPANY IN USA CLICK THE ABOVE LINK Where To Buy Gold Coins & Bars As A Viable Investment Click Here: http://www.regalassets.com/a/1921 Precious Metals like silver and gold coins and bars and all types of other investing information can be found here: https://investor.gov Investing in precious metals like gold coins and gold bars is an excellent way to ensure that your money works for you and gives a return that is above the rate of inflation. If you are wondering where to buy gold coins or bars in usa or anywhere online worldwide, you should know that it is a very simple process so long as you know what you want your budget to be and how much of a role these precious metals will play in your investing portfolio. Know The Rules Gold has long been a favorite of investors because it has climbed in value every year for the past four decades; an ounce of gold purchased in the late 1970s would be worth nearly ten times as much today. Coins, however, are different than bullion: while they are worth the exact same on a per-ounce basis, they are available from different sources since different countries mint individual coins. The American Gold Eagle coins, for instance, have different dimensions and weights than the Canadian Maple Leaf coins. Decide Limits Many investors suggest putting no more than a quarter of your investments into valuable metals, since these are more of a failsafe than an overall investment plan -- you put money into gold while hoping that you will never need to take it out, since gold is a hedge against a currency collapse. Depending on your level of concern about the economy and your overall holdings, you may want to invest more money in gold than financial analysts suggest. That having been said, coins can be more fun to collect than bars due to the history and ornate detail of the imprinting. Investing information available here: https://investor.gov/investing-basics Where To Buy Gold Bars or Coins The most direct route for all gold coinage is to purchase from national mints. The US mints in Philadelphia and Denver annually release new gold eagles, but in a low volume in order to keep demand high. You are more likely to find a coin that is rare or historic from a gold firm. Do extensive research on gold firms -- never buy from a pawn shop unless you are sure you can get a great value -- by looking up their reputation on the Better Business Bureau or on review sites like AngiesList. Once you have located a good dealer, remember that you can haggle a bit to get a better price: negotiating a better rate is one of the most satisfying parts of owning these coins. Same rules apply if you are wondering where to buy gold coins in usa or anywhere else in the world Get It Verified Any time you purchase coins (or jewelry or other valuables), you need to have the purchase verified. Even today they are the most popular format of buying gold as far as the general public is concerned. Gold coins are the preferred method of investing in gold for countless investors. Here we will discuss how one should go about investing in gold coins, starting with the basics. Basics of investing in Gold Coins One of the most basic things to know about gold coins is that there are two types of gold that can be used for investment: gold bullion coins, and collector's coins. Bullion refers to physical gold that is all-gold, without impurities or alloys. Therefore, bullion coins are pure gold coins that are weighed and valued according to the amount of gold contained in them. Their weight is measured in troy ounces or in grams. In North America, their weight is normally measured in troy ounces, where one ounce is approximately 28 grams. The other type of coins is a collector's coin, which is a coin whose value is derived not just from the gold contained in it, but also from other factors such as its rarity and condition. Advantages of Investing in Gold Coins Physical gold has a number of advantages over financial instruments such as Exchange Traded Funds. With physical gold, you directly own your gold investment, which makes it more secure and real. This is where investing in gold coins has the big advantage: gold coins are the most popular form of gold when anyone wants to invest in gold. Another advantage of gold coins over other formats of gold is its marketability. Gold coins are easier to sell than jewelry and financial instruments because they are normally standardized. A gold coin that contains one ounce of gold will sell for almost the same value in Japan as it would in France. Investing in Gold Coins as a Numismatist A numismatist is a collector of coins. As a collector of gold coins you can not only invest in the yellow metal, but also enjoy your collection as a hobby. The advantage of being a numismatist is that collector's coins get their value from their rarity and other such factors, and as a collector you will come to know a lot about different types of coins. This will allow you to easily judge the value of different types, and help you avoid making mistakes where you pay too much for some coins, or sell others for lot less than they are worth. Investing in gold coins as a numismatist is both profitable and entertaining. Gold coins are the most popular choice when people want to invest in physical gold. Gold coins come certified with the amount of gold present in them and its purity, which makes investing in gold coins easy to do. You can typically sell them within 24 hours through your local dealer or other traders. When you want to buy gold for the long term, investing in gold coins is one of the best steps you can take.
