Causes of Heart Attack: 1. Clogged Coronary Artery – It abstracts the blood flow to the heart muscle. There is always some type of damage or inflammation beforehand happening in the wall of the coronary artery – then the body starts accumulating cholesterol, protein and calcium as a Band-Aid which causes to start developing plaques, clot and if it became big enough, it can either dislodge or stop the flow of the artery which couldn’t supply oxygen to the muscle tissue. The cause of inflammation is high levels of insulin and low nutrients. 2. Arrhythmia – problem with the pacemaker, the rhythm of the heart is off and blood can pull in different parts of the heart which could develop a clot and the clot could spread and clog an artery. Potassium and magnesium are the nutrients that control the rhythm of the heart. 3. Heart Muscle (Muscle Cramps) – vitamin E has a very specific purpose of increasing oxygen in the heart muscle. The heart is one of the main muscles of the body that responds to nutrition very quickly. Arrhythmia is a problem with the pacemaker of the heart, a neurological thing that keeps the heart rhythm requires electrolytes. Not having enough electrolyte would create all sorts of abnormal heart rhythm happen in the body. Calcium - it helps contract muscles. Calcium deficiency could cause tetany, muscle twitch and too much calcium could create a rhythm problem with the heart. Vitamin D3 increases the absorption of calcium by 20x in the small intestine and Vitamin K2 helps avoid buildup of too much calcium in the arteries or other soft tissues. Magnesium – Deficient in magnesium could cause leg cramp. Magnesium is involved in relaxation of muscles and it is very important for muscle cramps prevention. Sodium – low in sodium will cause feeling weak and too much sodium would cause high blood pressure. Potassium – The body needs 4,700mg of potassium daily. This is my opinion and the coronary arteries is the main artery that supplies blood flow to the heart muscle. There are 2 controlling factors, one is adrenaline. It does an interesting thing - it causes vasodilation of this artery despite causing vasoconstriction to all other vessels. Lacking oxygen can cause a cramp in your heart muscle - this is causes by stress. The secondary problem is a clogged arteries. Its the high sugars and refined carbs that causes insulin that then increases cholesterol to come in and heal the damage causing a clogged artery. If you consumed saturated fats and avoid the refined sugars, it will not clog your arteries. He also talks about the difference between the grind whole grains versus intact whole grains. 3 Parts of the Intact Grain Seeds (Seed of Grass): • Bran (Outer part – Fiber, Trace Minerals, B Vitamins) • Germ (B Vitamins, Vitamin E, Trace Minerals, Phytonutrients, Healthy Fats) • Endosperm (All the carbohydrates and a little bit of B vitamins) Hey Guys, today we are going to answer the question what is healthy about the heart healthy whole grains. The American Association of Cereal Chemist defined this whole grains as “Any mixture of Bran, Endosperm and GERM in proportions one would expect to see in an intact grain”. Here is a picture of an intact grain which is a seed of grass. These are seeds that turns into grass and turns into plants, that’s what grains are. There is 3 different parts, you have the bran which is the outer part which is the fiber, trace minerals, some b vitamins. Then you got the germ inside B Vitamins, Vitamin E, Trace Minerals, Phytonutrients, and Healthy Fats. Then you have the endosperm which is basically all the carbohydrates and a little bit of b vitamins. Whole grain is any mixture of Bran, Endosperm and GERM in proportions one would expect to see in an intact grain. They expanded the definition to include even the grinding it. So we are not just talking about an intact whole grain that you would kind of soak and make some cereal out of. It is basically you can grind it as long as you put it back together. And according to FDA, all you need is 51% of these three elements together in proportion to call it a whole grain. It could actually include some refine grains. What I want to differentiate is when you go to the grocery store very few people are buying actual grains as a whole berry and soaking them and eating them like that. Great majority of people are buying them already ground down and the problem is when you grind this whole grains even if you try to put them back together, they are still exposed to oxygen and oxygen is what destroys Vitamin E, part of the B complex, a lot of Phytonutrients, a lot of Healthy Fats. The more these grains is exposed to air, the more it will go rancid, the more it will be exposed to molds, and things like that so they have to add chemicals to preserve it thought it is not gonna be that preserved. And not to mention all the processing when they puff the grain or they flake it to make cereals. And the other big problem is when you buy whole grains, you are not just buying whole grains a lot of times they are adding tons of sugar, sweeteners, chemicals on top of whole grains. However, in humans, there was the opposite a decrease in cholesterol, decrease in LDL, increase in HDL and decrease in triglycerides. In Rodents increase insulin, but in humans, it decreases insulin, decrease blood sugar as well as decrease A1C. I have another question from someone, does ketosis increase or decrease the risk of heart disease. The study that I am going to post down below is very interesting because they compared the study from rodents versus humans. I want to talk about what they found. When they put people on the ketogenic diet which is basically is more fat but the carbs are way down. Rodents increases cholesterol, increases LDL (bad cholesterol), decreases HDL (good cholesterol) and increases triglycerides. But in humans, decreases cholesterol, decreases LDL (bad cholesterol), increases HDL (good cholesterol) and increases triglycerides. This tells me that the inflammation and the problems in the artery are not an issue. Let’s talk about the pancreas, in rodents it increase insulin and in humans it decrease insulin, blood sugar and A1C because the main cause of the heart disease is high insulin and the ketogenic diet is designed to lower insulin. One little thing I am want to add is to make sure you are going to add intermittent fasting to then take it to the next level because that will also help you lower insulin even more and really make this numbers look really good.
