Archimedes Principle - Class 9 Tutorial

04:35
Archimedes Principle states that the buoyant force on a submerged object is equal to the weight of the fluid that is displaced by the object. Through the video, we can learn: 1. When a body is partly or completely immersed in water, it loses weight. 2. A body loses its maximum weight when it is completely immersed in water. 3. When a body is partly or completely in water then: Loss in weight of the body = Weight of water displaced by the body = Buoyant Force or up-thrust exerted by water on the body. Volume of the water displaced = Volume of the body immersed in water.

Archimedes Principle demonstration | Buoyancy | Physics

02:58
This is a demonstration of the Archimedes Principle which states that when an object is immersed in a fluid it apparently loses weight and the apparent loss is equal to the weight of the fluid displaced by the object . Use a spring balance to weigh a potato in air, then immerse it completely in water using the beaker and overflow apparatus shown in the video. Collect the displaced water and measure it. The weight lost by the potato bobbing in water is equal to the weight of the displaced, or overflow liquid. This is the essence of Archimedes' Principle, which connects the upthrust of water (buoyant force) to the apparent weight loss of a body immersed in water, to the weight of the liquid that is displaced - all three are equal.

ARCHIMEDES' PRINCIPLE or LAW of FLOATATION and BUOYANT FORCE | in HINDI

16:19
In this Physics video lecture for class 11 we explained Archimedes' principle known as law of floatation and buoyant force or force of buoyancy. We also derived the equation for floating bodies. During the derivation of the formula we found that the apparent weight for a submerged object in a fluid is the product of the volume of the object, the acceleration due to gravity and the difference in the densities of the object and the fluid. Archimedes’ principle : It states that any body completely or partially submerged in a fluid (gas or liquid) at rest is acted upon by an upward, or buoyant, force the magnitude of which is equal to the weight of the fluid displaced by the body. ★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★ Click to visit the homepage of our channel : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCG1-22fo1sIhXGuXYpTRqaA Arijit Daripa EduPoint, Dam Road, Chandil, Dist- Seraikela-Kharsawan, Jharkhand, India.

Thus, when a solid is fully immersed in a liquid, it loses weight which is equal to the weight of the liquid it displaces. The principle applies to both floating and submerged bodies and to all fluids. It explains not only the buoyancy of ships and other vessels in water but also the rise of a balloon in the air and the apparent loss of weight of objects underwater. This video explains how to establish the relationship between the loss in weight of a solid and weight of liquid displaced when the solid is fully immersed in a liquid.

Density: A Story of Archimedes and the Gold Crown

09:10
To see all my Chemistry videos, check out http://socratic.org/chemistry Is the crown made of pure gold? An ancient Greek king needs to know if he's been cheated by a goldsmith. He summons Archimedes, who decides to use density to determine the metal. But how can he determine the volume of the crown? He realizes that the amount of water his body displaces in the bath tub can tell him the volume. Upon discovering this, he runs naked through the streets, shouting, "Eureka!"

Archimedes is not just the owl from the Sword in the Stone. Although that's a sweet movie if you haven't seen it. He was also an old Greek dude who figured out a bunch of physics way before other people did. Some of this was discovered at bath time, so it has a lot to do with water, but don't get all weird about it, just listen to the old man in the tub. He's smarter than he looks.
