New megayacht concept based on a perfect armony between sporty lines, elegance proportion and outstanding external area. Both exterior and interior layouts are strictly linked along the haunch. A design sign for us, the long arched fashion plate that runs from aft to bow creating new interpretation for external balconies. Owner has a private balcony per side of more than 8mt in lenght. Other balconies are reserved to Guests cabins and to main saloon, creating a sort of an external veranda. A distinctive element is certainly the upper bow terrace, with its 55 sqm pool. It places the Owner in a new perspective, a beach club with almost 360 view on the sea. Sea Arrow 98 is proposed with a multiple interior layouts, an optional touch&go helipad and various extractable balcony to link as much as possible the Owner to the sea.

They were once known as the 'Concorde of the Seas': mighty flying boats that ferried their passengers with speed and style. Hovercraft was a symbol of national innovation and represented the future of transport in the 20th Century. And yet, like the Concorde, the huge iconic 'Mountbatten-class' hovercraft that once traversed the 22-mile English Channel from England to France carrying hundreds or passengers and cars are no longer with us. This is a view of the starboard wavepiercer on the Incat fast ferry hull 066, operating with LD Lines as the Norman Arrow. This was shot early morning in March 2009 when the vessel was on its sea trials and shows the starboard wavepiercer as seen from the mooring deck as the vessel is underway. The wavepiercer gently dips into and out of the swell as we move along. The sea trials took place off Hobart in southern Tasmania, Australia which is where Incat's construction yard is located. This vessel is the third in its class of 112 metre all aluminium wavepiercing fast ferries and follow son from its sister ships Natchan Rera and Natchan World. A fourth vessel of the class is in the construction yard at the moment nearly complete.

On Saturday, January 23, 2010, about 0935 central standard time, the 810-foot-long oil tankship Eagle Otome collided with the 597-foot-long general cargo vessel Gull Arrow at the Port of Port Arthur, Texas. A 297-foot-long barge, the Kirby 30406, which was being pushed by the towboat Dixie Vengeance, subsequently collided with the Eagle Otome. The tankship was inbound in the Sabine-Neches Canal with a load of crude oil en route to an ExxonMobil facility in Beaumont, Texas. Two pilots were on board, as called for by local waterway protocol. When the Eagle Otome approached the Port of Port Arthur, it experienced several unintended heading diversions culminating in the Eagle Otome striking the Gull Arrow, which was berthed at the port unloading cargo. A short distance upriver from the collision site, the Dixie Vengeance was outbound with two barges. The towboat master saw the Eagle Otome move toward his side of the canal, and he put his engines full astern but could not avoid the subsequent collision. The Kirby 30406, which was the forward barge pushed by the Dixie Vengeance, collided with the Eagle Otome and breached the tankship‘s starboard ballast tank and the No. 1 center cargo tank a few feet above the waterline. As a result of the breach, 862,344 gallons of oil were released from the cargo tank, and an estimated 462,000 gallons of that amount spilled into the water. The three vessels remained together in the center of the canal while pollution response procedures were initiated. No crewmember on board any of the three vessels was injured. The NTSB determined that the probable cause of the collision of tankship Eagle Otome with cargo vessel Gull Arrow and the subsequent collision with the Dixie Vengeance tow was the failure of the first pilot, who had navigational control of the Eagle Otome, to correct the sheering motions that began as a result of the late initiation of a turn at a mild bend in the waterway. Contributing to the accident was the first pilot‘s fatigue, caused by his untreated obstructive sleep apnea and his work schedule, which did not permit adequate sleep; his distraction from conducting a radio call, which the second pilot should have conducted in accordance with guidelines; and the lack of effective bridge resource management by both pilots. Also contributing was the lack of oversight by the Jefferson and Orange County Board of Pilot Commissioners. But that's all just details, because the real reason I am publishing this is not so mariners can learn from the accident. It's because the recorded radio traffic is priceless. Listen on up.

Dublin Port’s Pilots, Ship Masters and Tug Masters have been taking part in simulator familiarisation and training at HR Wallingford’s UK Ship Simulation Centre for MV Celine, the latest generation in roll on/roll off (RoRo) super ferries. Watch a short video of extracts from the simulator familiarisation and training, together with actual drone footage of the Celine arriving at Dublin Port. MV Celine is the newest vessel to join the CLdN shipping line, which specialises in short sea RoRo cargo. At 234m in length - longer than two football pitches, and with a capacity of 8,000 lane-metres - it is the largest short sea roll-on/roll-off vessel in the world. HR Wallingford worked closely with CLdN to create an accurate hydrodynamic model of Celine prior to the ship build being completed.

This Concept & Tender design was developed for Bahri, (NSCSA) Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The vessel is flexible, has a large capacity and is optimised for fast turnaround in harbour. Fully independent with regard to maneuvering and loading/unloading, these six vessels are unique given that their size is smaller than others in the Bahria fleet yet they in total have more cargo lifting capabilities and lower fuel consumption. It is estimated that these lighter weight new vessels will consume 45% less fuel than the current ships, thereby delivering considerable cost savings - See more at:http://www.knudehansen.com/references/ro-ro-vessels/bahri-abha/

You won't believe that fishermen actually caught these gigantic sea monsters! Subscribe to our channel: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg SyFy recently aired the third film in their so-bad-its-good “Sharknado” series, prompting some to wonder if airborne, tornado-based sharks could actually be real. Okay, so no one is really wondering that. Still, though, the ocean continues to represent a great unknown to us, providing home to countless species, many of which remain a mystery to humanity. The more we learn about what lurks deep below the surface, the more we realize still remains uncovered. With two-thirds of the Earth’s surface covered in water, it stands to reason that a great deal of that space remains unexplored. Of course, just because humankind hasn’t covered every iota of ground along the ocean floor, it doesn’t mean that those areas are uninhabited. All we know for sure is that the truly deepest depths of the world’s oceans continue to offer surprises, even as scientific technology becomes increasingly advanced. New species unlike any others known before are routinely discovered, with entirely new and alien biomes in extreme environments that no life had even been thought possible have challenged our very notions of what life is and how it has evolved. Amidst the cold darkness of a low-lying ocean area with depths that no sunlight can penetrate lies an alien world of incredibly rare and mysterious species. While many are simple, harmless omnivores, they share the ocean floor with some pretty unsettling forces. These ocean-based creatures – those that we know about, anyway – change everything we think we know about fish. Each one has at least one predominant feature that stands out as being unlike anything seen before. Think you know sharks? Well, how about one with a saw-like nose or a frilly, eel-like body. Think you’ve seen some big fish? How about a 17-metre long swimmer or a 900-pound squid or even a 5,000-pound behemoth sunfish? Lurking within the ocean are a number of deadly, threatening, vicious creatures that are naturally designed and programmed to hunt and stalk their prey. Thankfully, most of these monsters live at pressures that humans could never survive at – not that they would survive long down there, anyway. In recent years, Hollywood has sparked a fascination with zombies, aliens and other forces that exist beyond the realms of our planet and that are not steeped in reality. Despite that, some of the strangest and most terrifying creatures in the universe lie beneath the surface of bodies of water with which we are, at least partially, familiar. As we sit on a beach staring out at the natural beauty of the Pacific Ocean, we remain blissfully oblivious to all that lurks within. This list seeks to open the door to an entire world of deep sea activity, featuring a cast of creepy and spooky characters that few even know exist. These 10 fish, some of whom may seem to be borne out of your darkest nightmares, are all very real and may give you second thoughts the next time you foray into the ocean.
