A trip from the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on the Flyaway bus to Union Station downtown, followed by a ride on the Red Line subway to Hollywood and Highland in Hollywood. Note the multiple-terminal pick-up, the freeway traffic downtown, and the detour of the bus through unpacked downtown streets.

Whilst most people in LA will believe this is pure witchcraft, here's proof that you can travel easily from Hollywood to LAX on the Metro. And for $4.50 in about 90 minutes. A cab ride could be anything up to $100 and will need to contend with potential traffic standstills. Whilst you can also use the FlyAway bus from Union Station (an additional $8, every half an hour or so) you're still reliant on freeway traffic. This is the cheapest and most reliable way of getting from Central LA to the airport - what a pity more people don't use it, or even believe it exists. This journey: RED LINE: Hollywood / Highland to 7th Street / Metro Ctr BLUE LINE: 7th Street / Metro Ctr to Willowbrook GREEN LINE: Willowbrook to Aviation / LAX then a short (free with TAP card) SHUTTLE BUS ride.

Los Angeles is the second-most populous city in the United States, after New York City, and the most populous city in the Western United States. With an estimated population of four million, Los Angeles is the largest and most populous city in the state of California and the cultural, financial, and commercial center of Southern California. Nicknamed the "City of Angels" partly because of its name's Spanish meaning, Los Angeles is known for its Mediterranean climate, ethnic diversity, and sprawling metropolis. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Los_Angeles Hollywood is a neighborhood in the central region of Los Angeles, California. This densely populated neighborhood is notable as the home of the U.S. film industry, including several of its historic studios, and its name has come to be a shorthand reference for the industry and the people associated with it. Hollywood Blvd, the most famous street in Hollywood. Though it might be rare to see a real celebrity here (unless there's an event), the impersonators will surely amuse you. Hollywood Walk of Fame is one of the main attractions here. You'll see the names of celebrities in a star inlaid on the sidewalk of the street. On the forecourt of the TCL Chinese Theatre, you'll find the signature, hand and footprints of the biggest names in Hollywood. Thursday afternoon drive around Hollywood in Los Angles. Video starts along Hollywood Boulevard where many award shows are held, continues through the popular tourist section where the Hollywood walk of fame is located, heads toward the Hollywood sign, continues down Vine St after passing the Capitol Records building, and continues along Sunset Boulevard. Hollywood is a neighborhood in the central region of Los Angeles, California, notable as the home of the U.S. film industry including several of its historic studios. Its name has come to be a shorthand reference for the industry and the people associated with it. Hollywood was incorporated as a municipality in 1903. It was consolidated with the city of Los Angeles in 1910 and soon thereafter a prominent film industry emerged, eventually becoming the most recognizable film industry in the world. Motion Picture Industry Four major film companies – Paramount, Warner Bros., RKO, and Columbia – had studios in Hollywood, as did several minor companies and rental studios. In the 1920s, Hollywood was the fifth-largest industry in the nation. By the 1930s, Hollywood studios became fully vertically integrated, as production, distribution and exhibition was controlled by these companies, enabling Hollywood to produce 600 films per year. Hollywood became known as Tinseltown and the "dream factory" because of the glittering image of the movie industry. Hollywood has since become a major center for film study in the United States. History In 1923, a large sign, reading HOLLYWOODLAND, was built in the Hollywood Hills. Its purpose was to advertise a housing development. In 1949, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce entered a contract with the City of Los Angeles to repair and rebuild the sign. The agreement stipulated that "LAND" be removed to spell "HOLLYWOOD" so the sign would now refer to the district, rather than the housing development. During the early 1950s, the Hollywood Freeway was constructed through the northeast corner of Hollywood. The Capitol Records Building on Vine Street, just north of Hollywood Boulevard, was built in 1956, and the Hollywood Walk of Fame was created in 1958 as a tribute to artists and other significant contributors to the entertainment industry. The official opening was on February 8, 1960. The Hollywood Boulevard Commercial and Entertainment District was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. The Dolby Theatre, which opened in 2001 as the Kodak Theatre at the Hollywood & Highland Center mall, is the home of the Oscars. The mall is located where the historic Hollywood Hotel once stood.

Check out the drive from the Anaheim area up I-5 and US 101, through downtown Los Angeles. This one ends near Beachwood Drive -- I'll show you that drive in a separate video. This one is all about the freeways! MyDrivelapse.com and Takemytrip.com provide driving videos and stories to help you plan your trip. Check out hundreds of videos on my YouTube channel. Subscribe if you like it! Dozens of new videos are on the way in the coming weeks. I made this trip in March, 2016. Video shot with a Brinno TLC-200 Pro time-lapse camera, mounted on my roof with a homemade magnetic case. I travel with two Brinno cameras - one facing forward, the other in reverse. Sometimes the reverse camera captures better video (fewer raindrops and bugs hit the rear-view lens). Driving Downtown Neighborhoods - Hollywood - Los Angeles California USA - Episode 17. Starting Point: Hollywood Boulevard https://goo.gl/maps/hzmbLQxB3gM2 . Hollywood is an ethnically diverse, densely populated, relatively low-income neighborhood in the central region of Los Angeles, California. It is notable as the home of the U.S. film industry, including several of its historic studios, and its name has come to be a shorthand reference for the industry and the people in it. Hollywood was a small community in 1870 and was incorporated as a municipality in 1903. It was consolidated with the city of Los Angeles in 1910, and soon thereafter a prominent film industry emerged, eventually becoming the most recognizable film industry in the world. In the 1920s, Hollywood was the fifth-largest industry in the nation. Hollywood became known as Tinseltown because of the glittering image of the movie industry. Hollywood has since become a major center for film study in the United States. Development In 1923, the Hollywood sign was erected in the Hollywood Hills, reading "HOLLYWOODLAND," its purpose being to advertise a housing development. In 1949, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce entered a contract with the City of Los Angeles to repair and rebuild the sign. The contract stipulated that "LAND" be removed to spell "HOLLYWOOD" and reflect the district, not the housing development. The Dolby Theatre, which opened in 2001 as the Kodak Theatre at the Hollywood & Highland Center mall, is the home of the Oscars. The mall is located where the historic Hollywood Hotel once stood. Revitalization After years of serious decline in the 1980s, many Hollywood landmarks were threatened with demolition. Columbia Square, at the northeast corner of Sunset Boulevard and Gower Street, is part of the ongoing rebirth of Hollywood. The Art Deco-style studio complex completed in 1938, which was once the Hollywood headquarters for CBS, became home to a new generation of broadcasters when cable television networks MTV, Comedy Central, BET and Spike TV consolidated their offices here in 2014 as part of a $420-million office, residential and retail complex. Since 2000, Hollywood has been increasingly gentrified due to revitalization by private enterprise and public planners. Hollywood Sign Hike to Burbank Peak and the Wisdom Tree This hike takes you up behind the iconic Hollywood sign on a 3.5 mile road trip trail that takes you up about 800 feet of elevation. It is a steep trail, so know that going in. Be sure to read signs when parking as well so that you do not get a ticket. It is a really fun Southern California hike with great views though and one of my favorite in the LA area. Dreaming about Hollywood? In this video you'll get to see the everyday life along the Hollywood Boulevard, California. At the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame you'll walk on the stars of Jay Leno, Britney Spears, Destiny's child, Dick Haynes, Bill Cosby, Aretha Franklin, Blake Edwards and a many more. The handprints (and sometimes footprints) outside Grauman's Chinese Theater are made by some of the biggest star of the silver screen; Eddie Murphy, Jane Russell and Marilyn Monroe, Richard Gere, Michael Douglas, Adam Sandler, Tom Hanks and Jim Carrey. And if that's not stars enough for you, get here by late February when every moviestar crowds the streets for one night. The Kodak Theatre as it was named at the time, nowadays the proper name is Dolby Theatre, is where the annual Academy Awards ceremonies, the Oscars, are being held. At the end of the video you'll get a glimpse of the building where the final scene in Pretty Woman were shot. The building where Richard Gere climbed up the fire escape with flowers to Julia Roberts, the Las Palmas hotel just half a block north of Hollywood Boulevard.

This is a 4K video of Universal Studios Hollywood in Los Angeles, California. Video captured during the daytime setup of Halloween Horror Nights. Universal Studios is a relatively short drive to Disneyland. Universal Studios is in the northern part of LA, whereas Disneyland is more in the southern part. If you have time to visit both Disneyland and Universal Studios, do it! Although there is much construction in 2018 at the park, you’ll find the live attractions in 2018 are similar. This video was shot in 4K at 30 FPS using an iPhone 8. I also used a stability bar (but no gimbal). In this video, I walk around the park and take the studio backlot tour. It's a quick cut of various attractions you'll find at Universal Studios Hollywood. You'll see glimpses of food areas as well. And a quick clip of animal actors. The best rides and the backlot are here at the park. It’s also right next to Citywalk, here in Los Angeles! Also known as estudios universales in Spanish. Let this walkthrough video guide you.

Universal Studios Hollywood is a film studio and theme park in the Universal City community of the San Fernando Valley region of the city of Los Angeles, California, United States. It is one of the oldest and most famous Hollywood film studios still in use. Its official marketing headline is "The Entertainment Capital of LA". It was initially created to offer tours of the real Universal Studios sets and is the first of many full-fledged Universal Studios Theme Parks located across the world. Woody Woodpecker is the mascot for Universal Studios Hollywood. Outside the theme park, a new, all-digital facility near the Universal Studios backlot was built in an effort to merge all of NBCUniversal's West Coast operations into one area. As a result, the current home for KNBC, KVEA and NBC News with Telemundo Los Angeles Bureaus with new digital facility is on the Universal lot formerly occupied by Technicolor SA. Universal City includes hotels Universal Hilton & Towers, the Sheraton Universal Hotel, the multi-screen Globe Theatre, often used for banquets and receptions and Universal CityWalk, which offers a collection of shops and restaurants. In 2013, the park hosted 6,148,000 guests, placing it 17th in the world and 9th among North American parks. Source: Wikipedia

A visit to a place close to the worlds most famous city sign, the Hollywood Sign. The Hollywood Sign is placed on top of a hill in Hollywood, Los Angeles, close to Griffith park and observatory. It originally said Hollywoodland and was the name of a housing development in this area. In 1949 the "land" was dropped and it became the now famous Hollywood sign. However in late 70's the sign was in a really bad state and was saved by private donors, one being the artist Alice Cooper. The sign is made out of painted metal. You are not allowed to visit them (which is trespassing) but you could get close.

If you want the best food in Hollywood, go to a strip mall. We're hitting up our favorite strip mall restaurants and food trucks in the city. Our host Kris Yenbamroong starts off in East Hollywood with basturma in Little Armenia and spicy curry in Thai Town before sitting down to eat the freshest Peruvian ceviche with two of the best skaters around, Eric Koston and Erik Ellington. And this is the MUNCHIES Guide to Hollywood, after all, so we've rented a star tours van to take Kris and his good friend Eric Wareheim to the best truck for Al Pastor tacos and late night Thai treats. The best food in Hollywood is usually in the most unassuming locations. Subscribe to Munchies here: http://bit.ly/Subscribe-to-MUNCHIES Check out http://munchies.tv for more!
