If people in developed contries would only stopped buying and THROWING out their clothing and belongings seasonally, then there would not be the constant need to produce so much and the pollution will decrease naturally. The developing countries rely on the production to earn income. Developed countries can help by inventing safer dyes and processes, but not stop buying from them.

If you Google certain brands, like People Tree, or any on line brands that use organic cotton. It is worth buying clothes that are well made, and keeping them for years, rather than the trick of fast fashion, where cheap stuff falls to pieces.

A fabulous overview of the fast fashion problem. The toxicity of jeans was especially well demonstrated.
