Bad luxury purchased to avoid! In this video I talk to you and show you my top 5 worst purchases. Includes reviews on Chanel Boy, Valentino Rockstuds, Chanel earrings, Miu Miu Vitello Lux. NOTE that I love the look of these items, my critisism is of the quality of the goods, and the materials they have been made from (materials not up to the task of being hard wearing). Yes I totally agree with you, wanted the boy bag in 2014 in pink when I was in Berlin and I couldn't afford it now I feel its a blessing in disguise, I would have been so massively disappointed if I had bought it. Wow! Thank you for this video. I so agree on the valentino shoes, tried on a pair of sandals very gently in the store and it instantly became a mark on the strap, it was ridiculous. I do have a pair of valentinoes that are of great quality, but sadly the majority of their shoes aren't like that at all.
You make me love the fact that A.) I’m not wealthy enough to make such purchases or complain about these issues. B.) That I achieve these looks via dupes.
$20 ladies and I achieve the looks without the care of worry lol
2nd quality products from designer items go to discounted stores sale... that's why you get inferior quality. I used to work in Prada outlet and everything sold were items which didn't pass quality control for the normal store. One thing is off season items and another thing is an item that is still a best seller like the Valentino rock stud shoes
My Michael Kors bag didn't have marks from me getting caught in the rain. It also has retained its shape even after three years of use. The color is also still very good. Saffiano Leather Savannah Satchel. it's easy to clean, and carries everything I need. It's the one designer thing I have, and I saved up for half a year to get it on sale. It was 198 dollars, but it is my favorite bag, and it's one of the best investments I ever made besides going to school. This bag will last me a long time. It cost way less than the MiU MiU bag, and it's higher quality. How do these companies get away with selling such poor quality items? The Miu Miu look like it came from Walmart.
Really appreciate you sharing your opinions on these designer items. I’ve moved towards quality and reputation from other users over brand name these days—one would hope brand name and higher price meant longer lasting and good quality pieces but I’ve found that to be untrue with designers like Prada, Miu Miu etc outsourcing the majority of their pieces to Asian factories for a dime (or less) on the dollar but still charging exorbitant prices, not to mention other issues that attach itself to manufacturing, etc...Not that those countries never produce quality items but trend-setting household names these days, in my opinion has gone down terribly in quality. Anyway, thanks for the honesty and review!
That lamb skin bag costs way too much for this to be happening. Shame on Chanel for such poor quality. The name is associated with tradition and quality. These bags cost way too much for this kind of wear to be happening.
What I am learning from your videos is that these items are really a complete waste of money. And not just the ones in this video but luxury items on general.
I remember when I was about 16 I saved up to by a top that was 80 dollars from a shop called Sportsgirl. Back when I was 16, 80 dollars for a top was a lot of money! I wore it once and it broke because of the way the two different types if material where designed together. This is a reputable brand, you will pay 120 dollars for a plain cotton dress!
Yes, this is the problem Marie!😰 Since filming this, my Boy is even more trashed. Yet I have a Boy in caviar and it’s pristine. I will never buy lambskin again - as you say, when the bag’s OWN STRAP scuffs the leather, you know you have problems!🙈xx
Hey Alexi, it’s because thats how people find you on YouTube. In the luxury community here, “luxury” and “designer” are the number one terms people search for when looking for content such as this. So to answer your question, it’s not that I think things are necessarily luxury - it’s just about discovery. Hope that makes sense x
Why Youtube recomend this to me? I dont give a fuck about brands, fashion or whatever. And I dont like the accent of this lady, sounds like she is having puree inside her mouth and not swallowing. Or somethin'. Puag. Bye.
1Timothy 2;9 like manner, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shame facedness and sobriety; not with broided hair or gold or pearls, or costly array; God warn us a long time ago.. Thanks 4 sharing because handbags are my weakness ... Nothing, seems to last nowadays
They charge so much to glue in stones because you people continue to buy it for 10x the price it costs them to make it. I get it, I don't understand what it's like to care enough about a name to buy a purse for thousands instead of investing in the Market for an actual investment, but what I don't get is why that shocks you in any way? You literally pay thousands for a name on a purse. How does anything surprise you?
You have at least these branded items is a big thing...
I have that black Chanel bag in my wish list since long.... Just wanna touch it and feel it once...
You are so lucky to have them all...
Though the products are not worthy or not better, are Dream for me... Love them a lot.... ❤
Thank you for giving your opinion... I know it was your opinion and will differ people to people...😊
And if you don't that luxury bag then give it to me 😀
Re: Chanel Stoned Earrings
My stones have never fallen off (purchased in 2009) and wore them for a few months and slept in them. I would take them out when I shower in the washroom so it's exposed to some moisture. The only part that fell off was the backing's "Chanel - Made in Paris" tag. Luckily, I found them and after years of neglect, decided to get them fixed at Chanel store. I'm still looking for solid piece earrings with no stones/pearls but haven't fallen in love with any yet. ^^; I guess I like my bling.
Doesn't the company offer professional cleansing or sell gentle cream leather cleanser and soft cloth or should of received at least a complementary re- dye if it's a spot or two since they have the correct colors already which they've used to paint their leathers with so it'd be easier for them to clean and professional pain at the factory... I mean for that price , if their customer service us no better than regular service I get anywhere else is rather stick with my under $200 boots bags shoes that look great if not better in my eyes, and the quality is no different to be honest. I get it though in this day and age just the "name"brand alone is pretty much more that counts to some people than the quality of the item, not to mention the comfort 😂
Sorry maybe it's me thinking BUT if anyone would INVEST in shoe or bag over $500 you'd think there should be special type of "extended" warranty if any. Maybe they should be obligated for free repairs ect as a part of customer service, with any company, let alone one that sells shoes and bags ( which is ridiculous btw) for anything over $300 let alone $700 shoes OR BAG.
I do know Lamb skin leather has to often be moisturised treated ect( kind of like human skin) or it gets crackly as & scuffs so easily as it's very soft and gentle lamb type of skin. Even if you don't use it still it will lose its moisture and WILL dry even crack EVEN if it's just sitting there not being used it requires special conditioners creams, type of buffers and gentle cloth applicators better to use your bare hands, fingers ( after cleansing we other milk moisture cleanser) to be massaged and cleansed into leather very very often . In other words high cost fashion comes with high MAINTENANCE. If you care to wear it more than once without it looking ratchet
I know I'm incredibly late but this just popped up in my recommended. But if you think some items don't look good enough to sell perhaps they can be donated?? I'm sure there are many lovely women in shelters who's days you would make by donating a new pair or shoes or bag to them 😊
I understand when you pay expensive items you expect more quality durable materials and if it not the case try to return it you have the right to do that if you are a good customer to this store they are supposed to be more flexible if they want to have you shopping thereyou give good advice to people ho want to buy this item not to do it nice video to watch
Chanel doesn't need to justify the cheap quality of their goods as they know people will still come and buy it. Chanel' products..in terms of quality, has changed over the years...If you are going to invest, go vintage, if you can find it....
FYI there are places, in London I believe, that can refurbish Chanel bags to brand new. I am serious, your dog can chew the bag to bits and they can restore it for a price well worth it. You can google it but if I can find it again I will post it.
Miu Miu is Mr Prada’s wife. She’s also the founder of the brand Prada. Miu Miu came out later as a brand. Italians love her style, I personally don’t. I have the beige bag you showed and though at first I liked it because everyone in Milan was carrying it and it looked pretty fashionable then, it didn’t stand the test of time. And yes , Miu Miu quality is below par. I’d go for an LV Lockit anytime. I enjoy your videos and I love your critical sense. Valentino shoes are so overrated but most Italian actresses loves them. There are better and less expensive shoes we get which are more understated. Brands which are not known internationally but are the staples of every classic elegant dresser in Rome.
Thank you Sophie for the no nonsense appraisals - I particularly appreciate the heads up about the Chanel jewellery - my daughter is heading to France in September and I know she specifically wanted to pick up the earrings from the 31 Rue Cambon Boutique. Plain with no stones will be the go. :) Thanks again and keep the wonderful vlogs coming. M
Thank you for your video! Spot on! I had Channel earrings where the posts fell off. I purchased them preloved and no store near me. I had them repaired at a local jeweler and sold them. Will never buy them again!
Hey Sophie! I have been following you since 2016 and have always enjoyed your videos! After rewatching this, I remember what my mom used to tell me. She suggested putting clear nail polish on my studded and glued jewellery to prevent the little thingies from falling off. I hope it helps!
I’ve had the same issue with my Chanel rhinestone studs. They look beautiful for a few wears and then for whatever reason the stones pop out leaving the earrings looking gross and makes me feel like I project an image that I don’t take care of my things to the world. My last pair that I owned had 3 stones fall out on the same day and I didn’t notice until a coworker pointed it out to me and I was absolutely embarrassed beyond belief! I will never buy them again until they start affixing the stones in by another method besides glue.
Hi Sophie, thank you for this review, very useful as I was thinking of getting the second Valentino pair of shoes.. but not now :). However, on the earrings topic, I bought a Chanel pearl necklace that broke after 3 uses. I was at a party and it just fell from around my neck. I took it to Chanel and they fixed it but completely unacceptable for the price I paid... I also have the Chanel jumbo bag in lambskin, I have to say it hasn’t worn off yet, but hey, it’s 2 months old. Thank you for your videos, I love your channel! X
You might be able to cure the sheepskin with a leather conditioner like oak wood that's wax based and made for saddles. High end saddles often have areas of a "thinner/fragile" leather. Apply a generous coating over the bag and leave in a dry hot place. It fully cures when the leather no longer feels tacky. I do this with my boots too. Helps to waterproof them. I'm so surprised that the dye is so superficial with some of these items. I've got gouges in old riding boots that are hardly noticeable due to the leather being properly dyed.
I bought a Chanel ring years ago that was full of rhinestones – a huge bulky piece that I fell in love with. Every other time I wore this ring, a rhinestone fell out. Now this ring looks like a mess and due to all the missing stones no one would ever guess this ring was an original. Needless to say I cannot wear it anymore. Very disappointing. No Chanel fashion jewelry for me anymore. Been there, done that.
This is a unique real vampire website for vampires as well as the curious. It has valuable information for any real vampire and is based on scientific evidence. It also leads to other good websites for real vampires.
This is why I "think" Im a real vampire They have no desire to use us as lab rats or slaves. Before reading any farther on this site, This website is not made for poser vamps, close-minded people, or those who think that they are, or claim to be a vampire because they think the spirit of a vampire entered them at some time making them a vampire. We call these people posers, which they are; they are confused lost children. This site is not here for them in any way! It is for real vampires, curious people, and open-minded skeptics. The best compliment that you can give to this site, is telling all of your friends about it.
Real vampires are not pure fiction.
The Headache Paradox: It is scientifically impossible to have a headache, seeing that there are no pain receptors in the brain. Yet we continue to search for answers to what causes a headache, because we all know that headaches do exist.
Between a combination of the fact that our brains are roughly nothing more than a highly advanced mass of nerves, and that every function is controlled by signals that our brain sends through our nerves to the rest of our bodies, I think that if we could somehow make our nerves send stronger, more efficient signals at a quicker speed it would have a lot of different results. Including heightened sense (both physical and psychic) moving quicker both running and walking along with arm movement etc. The brain being just nerves would obviously also be effected, resulting in quicker more efficient thinking, which naturally would make us smarter, more observant, and have much sharper reflexes.
Some say that is an overly simplified form of how the brain functions, which it is. To them I say make the axons 12-15% wider, resulting in signals being sent much more quickly through the brain. Allowing neurons to create more connections without loss of speed, and the 10,000+ miles of blood vessels in the brain doubling as an additional cooling system for the brain. I could write a book on the cascade of effects that alone causes for people when they are changed in to a real vampire, however for now I will leave it in this simplified form.
